Highlights

Dresden becomes the crime scene in this self-guided detective game, where the clues are hidden in plain sight in the streets around you. The case is the murder of Balthasar, and the evidence is scattered across the old centre - past Kathedrale Sanctissimae Trinitatis, Dresden Transport Museum, Frauenkirche Dresden and Semperoper Dresden. You decode messages, photograph what does not add up and press digital witnesses whose stories never quite line up. Every puzzle you crack removes a name from the list of suspects. Play as a couple, bring the children along, or send two or three teams out at the same time and turn the investigation into a race - which is what makes this murder mystery game work as well for a team outing as for a day out. The last answer is waiting somewhere in the centre of Dresden.

About Dresden

Dresden, on the Elbe in Saxony, is a baroque city of domes and palaces rebuilt after the Second World War, with art museums and river views.

Dresden grew rich under the Saxon electors, notably Augustus the Strong, who filled the city with baroque palaces and collections. The Frauenkirche, whose great stone dome dominates the skyline, was destroyed in the bombing of February 1945 and rebuilt, reopening in 2005. The Zwinger, a baroque palace of pavilions and courtyards, and the Semper Opera House stand close together in the old town.

Top-ranked sights in Dresden: Dresden Frauenkirche, Dresden Christmas Market (Dresdner Striezelmarkt), Dresden Castle (Residenzschloss).
