Itinerary
Located north of Cairns, Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures is the best place to see crocodiles and Australian wildlife in Tropical North Queensland. Stroll the timber boardwalks and pathways, through woodlands and rainforest to see an array of tropical birds, reptiles and other native fauna. Embark on a boat cruise exploring the Melaleuca wetlands, home to the estuarine (saltwater) crocodile. Here, you’ll come within metres of the massive Saltwater Crocodiles — the world’s largest living reptiles, reaching over 6 meters in length and weighing more than 1,000 kilos! See these impressive, apex predators launch from the water during their feeding demonstration—a truly unforgettable sight. Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures is a long time accredited member of Ecotourism Australia and is the only wildlife park in Australia to be located within and surrounded by UNESCO World Heritage listed forest.

About Cairns & the Tropical North
Cairns is the gateway to Far North Queensland, with the Great Barrier Reef offshore, Daintree rainforest to the north and the Atherton Tablelands inland.
Cairns sits on Trinity Bay between the sea and a wall of forested ranges. The Esplanade has a public saltwater swimming lagoon and a long boardwalk beside mudflats where wading birds feed, and the Botanic Gardens hold tropical plants and a rainforest boardwalk. The city is the departure point for boats to the Great Barrier Reef, including the coral cay of Green Island and the rocky Fitzroy Island, and for flights over the reef.
