3Great Tour, But Communication and Follow-Through Need Improvement
We really enjoyed the actual wine tour. The wineries were well chosen, the wines were excellent, and Stefano was a great guide. Unfortunately, the communication and follow-through surrounding the experience were disappointing. Our tour started about an hour late because of a scheduling mix-up. We were told we would receive two complimentary bottles because of the delay. The other couple on our tour received theirs, but we did not. To be clear, we did receive all 12 bottles of wine that we purchased; we simply did not receive the two additional complimentary bottles we were promised. Shipping was the most frustrating part of the experience. The price ended up being higher than originally quoted, and after being told the wine would ship within 2–3 weeks, I received no confirmation that it had shipped, no tracking information, and no contact information for the shipping company. When I eventually followed up, I had to contact the shipper myself to find out the status. The wine did arrive, although both my friend’s and my selections from this particular winery were incorrect. The wines purchased from the other wineries arrived as ordered. Marco has since reached out to me and offered to look into the incorrect wines, which I appreciate. However, I received considerably more communication after expressing my concerns than I did while I was actually waiting for the wine. Overall, we genuinely enjoyed the tour, the wineries, Stefano, and the wine. Better communication and follow-through afterward would have made this a very different experience.
5The most authentic wine experience you'll have!
Our tour with Marco (and his brother) was truly special! Its rare to have such an authentic experience as this one where the men who owns and farms the land guides you through all there is to know about the area. We went to three wineries including the one owned by Marco's family and a local lunch. Because it was harvest and Marco had to tend to the Hazelnut machine for part of the day, Marco's brother Giovanni shared his family's wine with us then took us to our last stop which was a small winery run by two best friends with their own labels sharing a wine making space. We sat at a table right in their space and listened to them share about their wines, banter with each other and practice their English. When we purchased some of their wines, they had to go put on the lables to give it to us. It was such a fun, non-commercial experience!
5Barolo Barbaresco Alba Wine Tour
My wife and I took a full day Barolo/Barbaresco wine tour in Alba. We chose to do a tour with Marco as our guide because he was taking us to his family winery and two other small family owned and operated wineries. It was a wonderful experience. Marco was our driver as well as our guide and did a fantastic job the whole day through 5-Stars. He started with a short driving tour of the Alba area explaining all the different regions in the valley. Marco grew up there and was very knowledgeable regarding the area and all the different varieties of grapes grown and wine made in the valley. It was a great value for the time he and he counterparts gave us. The wine was delicious but more importantly for us the families that hosted us (Including Marco) at their wineries were beautiful people. The hard work passion and love they have for their wine, their family history, and love for the region was amazing. We also made a lunch stop in a picturesque hillside town with beautiful sweeping views of the valley. At lunch Marco was very gracious answering questions about his background and family. It was like having lunch with an old friend. I highly recommend that if you’re looking to take a wine tour in the Alba area you contact Marco. Incredible day with Marco. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5Great way to discover this area and its wines
We had the most wonderful tour with Marco. We were quite a large group, so the logistics were complicated, but everything ran very smoothly. We visited two wineries, Marco’s family’s and another one in Barolo. We had a great lunch in a lovely restaurant and learned a lot about the area and winemaking. Marco made it all very easy for us, from the initial organising and communication to the actual tour. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Piedmonte.
5Amazing tour with Marco
Marco was a fantastic host and guide. We got to tour Marco’s family vineyard and production facilities. We then visited Barolo and Barbaresco wineries which were also fantastic. We can’t wait to receive our shipment of amazing wines that we tasted while here. We will definitely be back to visit again!
5Fabulous day of wine tasting in Barolo
What a fabulous day with Marco!! He is extremely knowledgeable, being a winemaker himself, and also very personable! His passion for wine was infectious! We learned a great deal about the area, the winemaking process, and got to taste A LOT of great wine. Visiting his family winery and hearing his multigenerational story was fascinating! We shared the tour with only two other couples which made it a very intimate experience. I would highly recommend spending a day with Marco if you are in the Barolo area!

About Langhe-Roero and Monferrato
The Langhe, Roero and Monferrato are the vine-covered hills of southern Piedmont, home to Barolo and Barbaresco wines, hilltop villages and white truffles.
These three areas of southern Piedmont form a landscape of rolling hills, vineyards and castle-topped villages, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2014. The Langhe, around Alba, is the home of Barolo and Barbaresco, red wines made from the nebbiolo grape. The Roero lies across the Tanaro river, and Monferrato, further east, reaches Asti and the Barbera and Moscato vineyards.
