Highlights

I'm a professional truffle hunter from 3 generations in Alba. My grandfather after the 2nd world war was one of the first truffle hunters, he taught my father all the secrets about the precious "ipogean fungus" then my father taught it to me. I'm a dog trainer and actually I've got 3 great dogs: Lisa, Palli & Isi. I would like to teach "some'' of my truffle hunting secrets to travelers. During the tour you will be helped by my friend Margherita. She's an official tourist guide with great passion for truffles and local culture, translating every part of the hunting.

  • 5Authentic truffle hunting

This was a great experience with a guide and his dog hunting for truffles. This was not a simulated experience! We experienced them finding 4 black and 1 white truffle.

  • 5A GREAT AND SUCCESSFUL TRUFFLE HUNT!

Very informative, on time and provided help long after the end of the truffle hunt to arrange for purchase. Margherita is extremely knowledgeable about truffles but also provided helpful information about the areas wines and wineries.

  • 5A day to remember

Such a great experience to see and hear upclose the excitement of truffle hunting! A huge thanks to Giovanni and Turbo for letting us come along to your hunt in the beautiful piemontese forest, a day to remember! Margherita was the most wonderful and knowledgable guide, and she told us many interesting stories of the hunting methods, dog training and truffle business both today and in the past. Amazing to see how the truffles are found underneath and to smell the scent of a feshly picked truffle. The size of the group was 8 people, just perfect to be able to hear everything easily. We were all adults, but I can imagine my teenagers enjoying this 2-hour hunt as well. All in all, well worth the money!

  • 5Margarita was so...

Margarita was so knowledgeable and nice. She guided us to the forest and there we met the truffle hunter and his dog Gigi. The dog was very cute and we found 4 truffles. Highly recommend

About Langhe-Roero and Monferrato

The Langhe, Roero and Monferrato are the vine-covered hills of southern Piedmont, home to Barolo and Barbaresco wines, hilltop villages and white truffles.

These three areas of southern Piedmont form a landscape of rolling hills, vineyards and castle-topped villages, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2014. The Langhe, around Alba, is the home of Barolo and Barbaresco, red wines made from the nebbiolo grape. The Roero lies across the Tanaro river, and Monferrato, further east, reaches Asti and the Barbera and Moscato vineyards.
