One of our Culture Bearers will introduce you to the traditional lifeways of the Inupiaq, St. Lawrence Island Yupik, Athabascan, Eyak, Haida, Tsimshian, Tlingit, Unangax, Alutiiq/Sugpiaq, Yupik, and Cup'ik peoples.

  2. Our re-imagined gift shop focuses exclusively on the sales of authentic Alaska Native arts. Ch’k’iqadi is a Dena’ina Athabascan word meaning “things we buy” and at the Gallery, you have the opportunity to buy art, jewelry and more from talented Alaska Native artists representing all regions and cultures of Alaska. We work to build a strong and sustainable place for our artists to sell their work for years to come. Your purchase directly supports our arts, cultures, and the Alaska Native artist community.

About Anchorage

Anchorage is Alaska's largest city, set on Cook Inlet beneath the Chugach Mountains, with coastal trails, wildlife and long summer daylight.

Anchorage sits between Cook Inlet and the Chugach Mountains in south-central Alaska, and it is the state's largest city. It began as a railway construction camp in 1915, and the Good Friday earthquake of 1964, among the strongest ever recorded, reshaped it; Earthquake Park marks the story. The Anchorage Museum covers art, history and science, and the Alaska Native Heritage Center presents the state's Indigenous cultures.

Top-ranked sights in Anchorage: Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, Earthquake Park, Lake Hood.
