Itinerary
The tour begins with a scenic van ride to the north end of the island, where we arrive at the Lunch Creek Falls Trailhead. From there, we set out on an easy walk through lush, temperate rainforest, surrounded by towering evergreens and the soothing sounds of nature. Along the way, we’ll stop to take in the beauty of Lunch Creek Falls, a cascading waterfall that flows beneath a stunning wooden bridge—perfect for capturing breathtaking photos. As we continue our journey, we hike along Lunch Falls Trail for an incredible 1-mile loop through the rainforest then descend to the beach, where you'll have time to explore the cove, soak in the coastal views, and search for marine wildlife. Keep your eyes on the water—this is a prime spot for whale watching and observing other incredible sea life in their natural habitat.

5Great experience
What a great excursion. Operator communicated great for pickup from cruise port. He was so knowledgeable and the hike was easy and we learned so much. Great option if you want to save money from the cruise ship excursion and this tour takes you to areas you won't be offered from the cruise ship.
5It rains in a rain forest
Well worth the cost. Jordan is a wonderful guide and tremendously knowledgeable of the ecosystem and indigenous history and culture, which you do not get on a lot of tours.
5Fantastic Tour
We felt very fortunate to have Jordan as our guide through the Tongass rainforest! Jordan shared his extensive knowledge of the ecosystem of the forest and the medicinal plants used by both the Tlingit people and the black bears in the forest. I would have never thought that animals knew which plant to eat at certain times of the year. A 10/10 experience! We even got to hold a banana slug. Thank you, Jordan!
5A great alternative to cruise line excursions!
This was our first trip to Alaska. We travel frequently, but this is only our second cruise. The first one was 10 years ago. This was a trip worth taking! Our time in port only allowed for one excursion per stop. We wanted alternatives to what the cruise line had to offer. We were picked up from the same location as those who booked through the ship. Instead of a large coach bus, we enjoyed the intimacy of a small van. My husband and I had an amazing time on our hike with Jordan! It was a great opportunity to experience nature and learn more about Alaska. Make sure you pack waterproof hiking shoes, and dress in layers. The temperature in the rainforest can change significantly in just a few hours. This was a memorable experience. We highly recommend this tour!
5Great Experience
Such a great experience in Ketchikan! The rainforest and beach were absolutely beautiful, and Jordan was friendly and very knowledgeable. It was a peaceful, fun way to experience Alaska’s scenery and wildlife. Definitely recommend!
5Wonderful
Brilliant small group experience. Something unique away from the crowds of the cruise ships. Our guide was enthusiastic to share the beauty and stories of the area. Being a small group of on 7, the whole afternoon felt very personalised. Would hight recommend.

About Ketchikan
Ketchikan, in the Alaska Panhandle, is a rainy fishing town of stilted boardwalks and totem poles, set among the forests and fjords of the Inside Passage.
Ketchikan clings to the shore of Revillagigedo Island in Southeast Alaska, squeezed between steep forested hills and the water of the Inside Passage. Houses and boardwalks stand on stilts above Ketchikan Creek, where Creek Street, a lane of old buildings on pilings, once formed the red-light district. The town calls itself the salmon capital of the world, and the creek fills with spawning salmon in late summer.
