What riders say

Great guides, nice snapshot of the city! Easy way to see downtown and SoCo areas in a few hours. Driver Mike was excellent.
Excellent tour guide. Very convenient to hop on and off all day. Had a problem with bus and Viator generously refunded promptly. Also love using Viator when traveling!
The tour guide was wonderful. I believe her name was Maddie. She was full of information and was very friendly. The driver was Mike (I think) and did an excellent job trying to get us in the shade whenever possible. They made a great team.
Best time to ride
Spring and autumn have the most comfortable weather for the open upper deck. Summer afternoons in Austin are hot, so the climate-controlled lower deck is the better choice then.
Who it suits
- Families
- A short, seven-stop route with an enclosed lower deck suits children, though the long gap between buses needs planning.
- Couples
- Stops at the Capitol and along South Congress give easy places to hop off for food and shopping.
- Seniors
- Few stops and a covered lower deck keep the day manageable; the long wait between buses favours picking only a couple of hop-offs.
- First-time visitors
- A compact introduction to downtown, the university area and South Congress in one route.
Tips before you go
- Buses leave roughly every 90 minutes, so choose hop-offs with the next departure in mind.
- The LBJ Presidential Library stop can be unavailable during certain University of Texas events.
- The all-day option sells out at times, so the single-loop tour is the fallback.
- Service runs on set days of the week rather than every day, so check the schedule page before planning.
Good to know
- Buses: about every 90 minutes.
