Highlights

The tour takes place at a historic winery, one of the first to join the Brunello di Montalcino Consorzio. Tenute Silvio Nardi was founded in 1950 by Silvio Nardi, an Umbrian manufacturer of agricultural machinery, who had fallen in love with the Casale del Bosco estate during his numerous visits to Montalcino. In 1954, the first bottle of Brunello bearing the Casale del Bosco label was released onto the market. Over the years, the cellar has maintained a long-standing tradition, as evidenced by the fact that the Nardi family has continued to run the business for over 70 years. The villa is also a perfectly preserved testament to the area’s past history.

About Chianti

Chianti is a hilly wine region of Tuscany between Florence and Siena, with vineyards, olive groves, cypress-lined roads and hilltop castles.

Chianti is the stretch of rolling Tuscan hills between Florence and Siena, where vineyards and olive groves cover the slopes and stone farmhouses and cypresses stand along the ridges. Its heart is the area of Chianti Classico, marked by a black rooster emblem, with towns such as Greve, Radda, Gaiole and Castellina. The wine is made mainly from the Sangiovese grape, and many estates have cellars where it can be tasted.
