About West Glacier
West Glacier is a small village at the west gate of Glacier National Park in Montana, beside the Flathead River and the start of Going-to-the-Sun Road.
West Glacier is a village of lodges, cabins and shops by the Middle Fork of the Flathead River, at the western entrance of Glacier National Park, which was established in 1910 and borders Canada. Apgar, at the southern end of Lake McDonald, lies just inside the gate, with a visitor centre and boats on the lake. A railway station on the main line serves the village.
