5Highly recommend dinner cruise.
Absolutely fantastic afternoon. We also had the sit down dinner option, beautiful meal! Onboard commentary was great, as was the dinner entertainment and hostess.
5Excellent experience again
Another excellent river sunset experience. I’m a local and never tire of the tourist experience. I have been on the train a couple of times and the river cruise several times. Well done Sue Allan and the team. Great value for money too.
5Don't miss out on this tour!
Relaxing and restoring. David informed us of the history of the river and entertained us his wit and knowledge. We enjoyed lovely nibbles on board thanks to Joyce. Very handy to be fetched and returned to our accommodation. We highly recommend this Longreach river tour.
5If you do nothing else while your in longreach, this is a must.
This was the best night out I had in Longreach. The tour guide was a wealth of knowledge regarding the river and the area, licensed bar and snacks, the views and sunset were stunning and the to finish the night off with a truly lovely meal, listening to great music in the ambience of fairy lights and a fire pit, with table service. It was truly wonderful. The musician they had was truly talented. I would absolutely go again. I was a solo traveler and found myself at a table with wonderful people.
5Try Smithy at Longreach
Apart from not expecting a navigable river at Longreach, it was a pleasure to travel on the Smithy Sunset Cruise. It was most informative and scenic. Seeing the river turtles was also a surprise. Followed by a very nice outback dinner and superb entertainment by Drew Blundell. NB: they supply transport to and from town if needed.

The sunset cruise was very peaceful, commentary was precise, and the nibbles were delicious. Well worth the time and money.

About Longreach
Longreach is an outback town on the Thomson River in central-west Queensland, known for its stockmen's heritage and the early days of Australian aviation.
Longreach lies on the broad Mitchell-grass plains of central-west Queensland, beside the Thomson River, on the Landsborough Highway. Sheep and cattle country stretches in every direction under a huge sky. Eagle Street, the wide main street, is lined with old pubs and verandahed buildings from the days when the town was a coaching stop and a railway terminus.
