Itinerary
A huge square with a long history which hosts one of Rome's biggest obelisc: Do you want to know why the Romans stole it from the Egyptians?
The famous stairway that leads to up the Trinity Church. Why is it called Spanish? Let's drink some water from the Bernini made fountain "La barcaccia", which has the shape of a small boat, serving water since 400 years.
The most famous monumental fountain of Rome: let's throw a coin as the legend wants. We will discover its history and why it is placed there, its stunning mythological statues.
From the Trevi fountain we will walk in the direction of Pantheon and we will be surprised by an ancient temple dedicated to a Roman Emperor that is now reused as the hall of the chamber of commerce.
Pantheon, the Church that once was a pagan roman temple dedicated to all their gods. An impressive example of classical roman building. In this square we will try some local snacks or gelato.
One of the most beautiful squares of Italy, in the XVII century it has been refurbished by the Pamphilij family, this square has a history which dates back way more than that. Let's admire the fountain of the four rivers made by Bernini and the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone planned by Borromini.
A famous and vivid square of Rome, in the morning it is very crowded due to the presence of the market. It is smaller than Navona square but very picturesque and a statue will reveal us some sad facts from the late Renaissance period.
The Jewish Ghetto in Rome was established in 1555, once a terribly sad place, we will understand why it happened and why exactly there. It now hosts bars and restaurants where we can try the fried artichoke, a specialty of the roman Jewish cuisine.
Right in front of the Jewish ghetto, there are the banks of the river Tiber which here hosts a small island, but the only one of Rome: The Tiber Island. Once shaped with marbles as if it is a huge sailboat, this island was crucial for the future development of Rome. Let's discover why.
Our last stop will be Trastevere: a unique neighbourhood full of bars and restaurants, which has a vibrant atmosphere. In its cute small alleys we can smell the freshly made pastas and once end up to the square of the Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere: one of the oldest church in the world.

About Rome
Rome layers nearly three thousand years of history into one walkable city, from the Colosseum and Forum to Baroque piazzas and Vatican art.
Ancient Rome is still in plain sight. The Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill sit together at the city's heart, the Pantheon still stands with its open oculus, and fragments of temples and aqueducts turn up between apartment blocks. Across the Tiber, Vatican City holds St Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling.
Top-ranked sights in Rome: Colosseum, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel.
