Itinerary
Our tour begins at Parque de la Independencia, one of Bogotá's most historic public spaces. Originally created in 1907 and officially inaugurated on July 23, 1910, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Colombia's Independence, the park became the centerpiece of a grand national exhibition celebrating the country's progress and future. From here, you'll enjoy a panoramic view of the traditional Las Nieves neighborhood, where Bogotá's famous flea markets await. It's the perfect starting point to discover the city's history, local culture, and hidden treasures before diving into one of its most authentic Sunday traditions.
We will visit two flea markets. First, we'll explore a smaller local market before heading to the main attraction of the tour. Both markets have been held in the same location for decades and are carefully organized, offering everything from antiques and vintage collectibles to handmade crafts and unique local treasures.
Later, we'll enjoy a locally known "septimazo" as we stroll along Bogotá's iconic Carrera Séptima. This popular local tradition consists of exploring the lively pedestrian avenue, browsing street vendors and artisan stalls, discovering unique handmade products, and experiencing the vibrant atmosphere created by musicians and local artists.
To finish the tour, we'll visit a local artisan market, where you'll have the opportunity to browse traditional Colombian handicrafts and, if you wish, purchase an authentic and affordable souvenir to remember your time in Bogotá.

About Bogotá
Bogotá, Colombia's capital, sits high in the Andes at around 2,600 metres, with a colonial old quarter, a famed gold museum and a hilltop church.
La Candelaria, the old quarter, lies at the foot of the eastern hills, with streets of colonial houses, galleries and murals around Plaza de Bolívar and its cathedral. The Gold Museum holds thousands of pre-Hispanic gold objects, and the Botero Museum shows the plump figures of Fernando Botero, who gave the city his collection. Above town, a funicular and cable car rise to Monserrate, a white church at over 3,100 metres.
Top-ranked sights in Bogotá: Plaza de Bolivar, Botero Museum (Museo Botero), Gold Museum (Museo del Oro).
