Highlights

During the tour, we have several stops to show you background of town and how people make a living. This is a private tour, so you do not have to hesitate others for asking questions. We are happy to answer to them, even like reality of local area or general issues in the countryside of Japan. It is just 2.5-hours experience, and we provide e-bikes that make much easier to cycle around the hilly area. We can recommend this tour for anyone who just wants to see the beauty of Japan's countryside casually. Away from major tourist areas, and why do not you drop at one of the towns in Hida region to get new insights of Japanese culture?

About Gero

Gero is a hot-spring town on the Hida River in Gifu Prefecture, ranked among Japan's three famous onsen, in the mountains south of Takayama.

Gero Onsen has drawn bathers for centuries along the Hida River, which runs clear through a narrow valley in the mountains of Gifu. The Edo-period scholar Hayashi Razan named it, with Arima and Kusatsu, as one of Japan's three great hot springs. The water is alkaline and soft and is known for leaving the skin smooth, and inns and public baths stand along the river.
