Highlights
Everyone knows that Pisa has a tower and that the tower leans. This spectacular tower is located in Piazza dei Miracoli, one of the most beautiful squares in Italy. After taking one of those funny "stereotypical" tourist photos, climb to the top of the belltower. The stairway is made of almost 300 marble stairs but the view is worth the effort. From the very top of the tower it’s possible to admire a breathtaking view over the city, the Arno river, surrounding mountains and far in the distance, the sea is visible on sunny days.Everyone comes here to see the tower, but Piazza dei Miracoli is also home to one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Italy, the Duomo of Santa Maria dell’Assunta. This church is an excellent example of Roman-Pisan Gothic architecture and is completely made of white marble. The contrast of colors between the white façade of the Duomo and the surrounding green grass is simply spectacular.

Itinerary
Rome represents the starting point but also the end of the tour, because there will be 3 hours of driving time to get in Pisa, and then 3 hours to come back from Pisa to your accomodation
Pisa was born as an Etruscan port, around the middle of the VI century. Etruscans called the city Pise and developed the economy of the country through the production arts and crafts. The city had a strategic position, being close to river Arno and the sea. The Piazza del Duomo ("Cathedral Square"), known with this name in the past, is also called Piazza dei Miracoli ("Square of Miracles"). This name was created by the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, who by observing it from above on a plane, called it "Prato dei Miracoli" (Meadow of Miracles), because of the beauty of the marble monuments, which looms within the surrounding green garden. The square lies at a Northern area of the city, that once was a graveyard and the place of an Early Christian cathedral. Differently from other cities, Pisa's Cathedral Square is not inside the walls nor in the old town
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of Italy's most famous landmarks, located in the city of Pisa. It was built as the bell tower of the cathedral and is known worldwide for its unique tilt, caused by unstable ground. Visitors from all over the world come to admire its remarkable architecture and rich history
Pisa Cathedral is a beautiful Romanesque church located in Piazza dei Miracoli. It was built in the 11th century and is famous for its impressive white marble façade and magnificent interior. It is one of the most important historical and architectural monuments in Italy
The Baptistery of Pisa is the largest baptistery in Italy and is located next to the Cathedral in Piazza dei Miracoli. It was built between the 12th and 14th centuries and combines Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles. It is famous for its excellent acoustics and its beautiful marble design

About Rome
Rome layers nearly three thousand years of history into one walkable city, from the Colosseum and Forum to Baroque piazzas and Vatican art.
Ancient Rome is still in plain sight. The Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill sit together at the city's heart, the Pantheon still stands with its open oculus, and fragments of temples and aqueducts turn up between apartment blocks. Across the Tiber, Vatican City holds St Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling.
Top-ranked sights in Rome: Colosseum, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel.
