Itinerary
After leaving your accommodation, you will first visit the famous Nijo Market. This market is popularly known as the kitchen of Sapporo, with the best of seasonal seafood, fruits, and other specialties on display as you walk around.
After Nijo market, you’ll ride the subway to the “White Lovers” (known in Japanese as “Shiroi Koibito”) Park. In this theme park, you will find an overflowing of candy charm, plus factory tours and of course the "white lover" confection itself, an institution in Hokkaido. You’ll not only enjoy a candy making experience, but also a learning one, specifically about the history of the brand and company, including a display of valuable antique cups. It goes without saying that there will be lots of chances to enjoy the chocolate, be it white, brown, or black.
After lunch, by subway and bus we will visit Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium. Okurayama is well known as the ski jump venue during the 1972 Olympic Winter Games in Sapporo, but even now many international ski jumping competitions are held. Ride the lift to the 307m summit and admire the city of Sapporo and the Ishikari Plain spreading out before you. During winter, you can enjoy a particularly superb view, with the pure white snow dazzling the scene around you. Beneath the 307m summit’s observatory is the starting line for the ski jump. Here you can realistically experience the jumper’s feeling before they make their run. After enjoying the ski jump stadium, the tour will end with a return to your accommodations. With our local guide leading the way, enjoy Sapporo to your heart's content during this splendid one day tour.

5A fabulous introduction to Sapporo
This was a fabulous day tour filled with some great local highlights lead by the knowledgeable Akiko who was professional, thoughtful, considerate and had so much to tell us about Sapporo. We went to the fish markets, chocolate factory, Olympic Ski Fields and also the TV Tower. We walked, took trains and buses and had a really fabulous day. The ramen stop for lunch was another highlight and all together made for a wonderful day. If you book this tour see if Akiko can be your guide, she was brilliant.
4Unique Walking Tour Experience
Nori is a very helpful guide. He helped us carry our handcarry trolley while we walked through the snow filled sidewalks & streets. Ski museum itinerary was canceled due to road closed after heavy snowfall overnight. It was changed to Sapporo TV Tower. We were able to finish Nijo Market & Shiroi Koibito tour on time.

About Sapporo
Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido, is a grid-planned city of wide parks, an annual snow festival, miso ramen and mountains close behind.
Sapporo was laid out as a grid in the 1870s, when Japan's government developed the northern island, so its streets are wide and straight, split by Odori Park, a long green strip through the middle. The red-brick former Hokkaido government building and the white clock tower, both from the Meiji period, recall that era, and the Hokkaido Shrine lies in a wooded park in the west.
Top-ranked sights in Sapporo: Odori Park (Odori Koen), Susukino, Sapporo TV Tower.
