5Great and awesome museum!
Great and awesome museum! Incredible history! LOVED the chapel!
5A day of fun and information
There's a lot of walking but plenty of places to sit and rest. There are various things to keep the kids entertained. The Lego ships were beautiful! Lots of information about the times of the big wooden ships. A learning experience.
5Wonderful place, highlight of trip
Wonderful piece of history 19 acres so allow plenty of time. Great to see the old ships was amazing. Have a boat trip as well while your there.
3A reasonably good experience as part of a day trip to Mystic
Visited on a beautiful sun filled day in the high 70’s. The experience was ok. The whaling industry was depicted as brutal as it was. The ship building part was not active when I was there. This experience was set up like historic Williamsburg with authentic homes and shops but it falls pretty short of the Williamsburg experience.
5Totally Worth The Time & Money; UNIQUE
So unique; like nothing I’ve ever experienced. We arrived as it opened so the crowd was super low. We were there at least a couple hours to see everything possible. Loved boarding the ship. Adored the little historic village and active artisans like the blacksmith and shipmate climbing rigging and adjusting sails. All the employees have an obvious passion and are wonderful to talk to or ask questions. Gift shop is pricey, but large and with some nice quality items. Overall I recommend this highly for adults and kids who love boats-ships-pirates, etc.
5Amazing experience!
I loved getting to climb aboard the ships and watch as they worked on restoring a ship. It is worth the time and money.

About Mystic
Mystic is a Connecticut seaport village on the Mystic River, home to a large maritime museum, tall ships, a drawbridge and a shoreline of quiet coves.
Mystic is a village shared by the towns of Stonington and Groton on Connecticut's eastern shore, where the Mystic River runs down to Fishers Island Sound. In the nineteenth century its shipyards built whalers and fast clipper ships, and that history is the draw. Mystic Seaport Museum recreates a working port, with historic vessels including the Charles W. Morgan, an 1841 whaleship that is the last of its kind afloat. A bascule drawbridge crosses the river at the foot of Main Street.
