Highlights
If we only had two to three hours to spend on the water and wanted show our friends or family what it's like to experience the thrill of Class III (Class IV at higher water) Colorado whitewater rafting and the beauty of Glenwood Canyon, this would be the trip we'd take them on. And if we only had two hours because everyone had plans after the trip, well, we'd probably cancel them so we could all go rafting. At lower water levels it's perfect for first-timers, families, and people who like experiencing life rather than Snapchatting it. At higher water levels, typically late-Spring thru early-Summer, this experience is best for adrenaline junkies and experienced paddlers in good physical condition and without pre-existing medical conditions.

5Excellent Rafting Experience
The Defiance Rafting Company was an excellent company to raft with for our 1/2 day trip. The staff was friendly, efficient, and thorough with their safety instructions. Great job fitting everyone with splash outfits, helmets, and life vests. Our raft guide, Jake, was personable, happy to answer our group questions, and share his knowledge about the environment and wildlife. Greatly enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend! Only company we found still doing rafting trips in mid September.
5Great trip
Very smooth. The water was low so it was more a scenic float but the guide was super fun and made it enjoyable. Would do again!
5Yes there’s still some water left in the Colorado River
Fun time rafting down the Colorado from Glenwood Springs with a very experienced guide (Cross) who expertly navigated the rapids and made the trip enjoyable for all!

5Had a blast with Bryce rafting in Glendwood Springs
Cannot say enough good things about this company and the experience. All of the guides seemed to have a great personality, our guide was Bryce. He was very friendly and shared a lot of information about the area with us as we floated. We are a family of 5 with kids ranging from 10-16 and they all thought he was great. We went on day 2 of our trip and had a blast. All of our family said we would definitely come back and use this company and we would book an all day trip next time. Cannot recommend them enough. You won't regret your trip!

About Glenwood Springs
Glenwood Springs is a Colorado mountain town where the Roaring Fork meets the Colorado River, built around hot springs and the red-walled Glenwood Canyon.
Glenwood Springs sits at the meeting of the Roaring Fork and Colorado rivers, in a valley of red and gold sandstone cliffs on the western side of the Rockies. The Ute people knew the hot mineral springs long before miners and settlers arrived in the 1880s, and the town grew into a spa resort with a Victorian hotel and a grand bathhouse. The broad outdoor pool, fed by springs that emerge hot from the ground, is still the centrepiece.
