Itinerary
Skip the long lines and get your tour started right away. Meet your guide outside the Vatican Museums and go straight to the luxurious exhibitions and rooms such as the Gallery of Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries, and the Pinecone Courtyard. Highlights of the vast collection on display at the Vatican Museums include the stunning works of Raphael and Michelangelo that were collected by various Popes throughout the centuries.
Next, you’ll enter the glorious Sistine Chapel and behold Michelangelo's famous frescoes "The Last Judgment," and "The Creation of Adam."
Next, you will see the Dome of St. Peter's Basilica from an up close perspective. A lift ride will take you to the main level inside the vault, offering a fantastic view of the staggering mosaics and embellishments. From this view you really can admire the artisans’ effort and technique used for such intricate work. Climb the 281 steps to the highest point of the Dome. At the top, your guide will point out notable points of interest from one of the best views of the entire city of Rome.
When you return to ground level, explore St. Peter’s Basilica, see Michelangelo's Pietà, the only piece of work the famous sculptor ever signed. Learn how Michelangelo triumphed over his peers for the distinct honor to paint St. Peter’s heavenly arch. Enter the underground ecclesiastical tomb, where throughout the centuries, a significant number of Popes have been buried, and investigate the various houses of prayer, and shrouded graves.
The tour will end in St Peter's Square where you can see Bernini works.

About Rome
Rome layers nearly three thousand years of history into one walkable city, from the Colosseum and Forum to Baroque piazzas and Vatican art.
Ancient Rome is still in plain sight. The Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill sit together at the city's heart, the Pantheon still stands with its open oculus, and fragments of temples and aqueducts turn up between apartment blocks. Across the Tiber, Vatican City holds St Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling.
Top-ranked sights in Rome: Colosseum, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel.
