About Barossa Valley
The Barossa Valley, north-east of Adelaide, is one of Australia's best-known wine regions, with old Shiraz vines and a strong German heritage.
Lutheran settlers from Prussia and Silesia arrived in the 1840s and planted vines, and their stone churches, farmhouses and bakeries still shape the valley's towns.
