3Not my favorite
I think they did they best they could with what they had, but there is just not that much to see on a short cruise excursion in Burnie. We went to the garden to see a platypus, but none to be seen. The grounds were nice, but we were there in the fall season for them, so not very pretty overall.
4Port visit Burnie, Tasmania
Stopped in Burnie, Tasmania, on a cruise where a shuttle took us from the port into town where we were personally greeted by the town mayor, Teeny Brumby. What a treat, if only all our politicians had so much enthusiasm.
2There was not much to see...
There was not much to see on this tour for what we paid. The guide/driver was hard to hear especially in back of bus.
3Not worth it at this time of year
My mistake in not checking if the flowers would be in bloom this time of year. I guess I expected a tour that included the Rhododendron Gardens would be at a time they would be in bloom. Not worth the money to see green that is all around us without spending the time or money.
2SKIP this Excursion!
It was very unorganized and difficult to find where to meet the bus in town. Our guide was older and very hard to hear and understand. The stops we went to on this excursion were okay but nothing amazing. Would recommend doing the "Wings" excursion instead.
5We loved this tour! We...
We loved this tour! We enjoyed getting out and wondering around freely. Penguin is a great little town. Highly recommend.

About Burnie
Burnie is a working port on Tasmania's north-west coast, backed by green farmland, with a long foreshore, an art gallery and little penguins nearby.
Burnie lies on Bass Strait on Tasmania's north-west coast, beneath a ridge of farmland. It is named after a director of the Van Diemen's Land Company, and it grew around its harbour, which still ships cargo from the north-west. A walk runs along the foreshore beside the water, and a regional art gallery marks the town's creative side.
