This tour focuses on birdwatching and can be tailored to fit the needs and level of the person or group. It lasts about 4 hours and it includes private guide only. Client provides their own transportation and pays for entrance fees directly at trailhead. Hiring a seasoned guide can make or break a walk in the forest. With a guide the forest becomes luscious, colorful, dynamic and vibrant with symbiotic relationships. To top it off, you might see unique and very rare birds. About Monteverde
Monteverde is a mountain community in Costa Rica's cloud forest, known for misty reserves, hanging bridges, birdlife and coffee farms.
Monteverde is a scattering of farms and small villages on the Tilarán Mountains, around 1,400 metres up, where moist winds from the Caribbean wrap the ridge in cloud. Quaker families from the United States settled here in the 1950s and began dairy farming, and they helped protect the forest above. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve and the neighbouring Santa Elena Reserve preserve mossy trees, ferns, orchids and hanging vines.
