  • 5Well Run and With Experience

A touristic experience. But what mattered most was Fleix arranged transportation to leave the tour early to make my flight. Saw the river dolphins up close, lunch was really good too, buffet of quality food. Restroom and bar on board, easy and delightful experience!

  • 4Nice half day boat tour

Overall this is a really nice tour. Our guide was amazing. He spoke English and was really friendly. We managed to spot a sloth in the trees thanks to him. It's been a great experience even though some parts felt like tourist traps. To swim with the dolphins you have to pay extra and same if you want to feed the pirarucu fish. The coconuts sold by the villagers were way overprised. The water lilies also were disappointing. Not at all as showed in the pictures. However, it was fun so I would recommend it.

  • 5Exciting private river tour!!!

I contacted this tour operator on WhatsApp for a three-hour private tour for two. The organization was precise and punctual! We were picked up at the indicated point in the city center and then at the end taken back to our hotel, which wasn't exactly in the city center. The boatman first took us swimming with pink dolphins; it was truly exciting, especially since we were the only ones there! We then set off on a picturesque boat ride through the forest. We reached another docking point where we could disembark and walk through the forest on a boardwalk, listening to the sounds of nature. Finally, we set off for the final stop, the meeting of the waters, where he let us feel the difference in temperature between the two rivers. The only thing that could be improved is that the guide didn't speak English but he still tried to explain things to us and we understood each other a little.

  • 1Scam - Not As Described

This tour was booked to start at 9am but didn’t commence until after 10am. The tour operator appeared to have merged two tours with different itineraries and start times together. As a result we didn’t get what we expected and got back much later than expected. It was supposed to be a trip on a large boat which then transferred to smaller motorized canoes for some aspects of the trip. This did not happen. Additional, a major focus of the trip was supposed to include looking for pink and grey dolphins. There was absolutely no attempt to do this which resulted in a number of guests complaining about the trip. We complained to Viator who have provided a partial refund but this is not good enough as we had to book an alternative trip on another day with our cruise line to do the dolphins spotting so we are out of pocket. When we get home, we will be asking our credit card provider to reverse the whole cost to make up for our financial loss as the partial refund because we saw part of what was scheduled just does not cut it because of the extra expense that we incurred.

About Manaus

Manaus is the Amazon's great river port, a rubber-boom city with an opera house, where the dark Rio Negro meets the pale Solimões.

Manaus rose on the rubber trade of the late nineteenth century, and the wealth of that era shows in the Teatro Amazonas, an opera house topped with a dome tiled in the colours of the Brazilian flag. The municipal market beside the port, with ironwork shipped from Europe, sells fish, fruit, herbs and handicrafts, and old floating docks line the waterfront.

Top-ranked sights in Manaus: Meeting of Waters (Encontro das Aguas), Amazon Theatre (Teatro Amazonas), Port of Manaus (Porto Flutuante).
