5Three-hour Tour with "The Doors"
Although it was a rainy Sunday, this was a great three-hour cruise with the Doors cover band, Feast of Friends. The music was excellent! The crowd was fun since we were all about the same age LOL The staff aboard the Dutch Apple are always warm, friendly, and welcoming. I think one of the bartenders was actually grateful I asked about the locations of the life preservers. We enjoyed a bite to eat as well while onboard from their small galley, but the dining area is about the entire lower deck. You can always scout for eagles along the coastline of the Hudson. Go for a cruise; you won't be disappointed.
4Cruise
There was no narration on the cruise. After we got past all the industry on the shoreline the scenery was pretty. It would have helped to have all the industry explained and to give value to it.
5Excellent!!
This was my first time on the DA....We went to the Ship of Fools Grateful Dead cruise and weather held off ....people were awesome and we really had an excellent time...Met The Captain Anthony!!~ We will be back.....
5Great time
We were on the upper deck, beautiful weather and smooth sailing. A nice leisurely pace so you could look around. We saw 3 bald eagles on the way back up the river! Highly recommend the trip.
5Albany Road Weekender
We took on the twilight/sunset cruise. The band was really good. We also had our dog with us and she was very relaxed. The ship was a really nice 3 decker. We were outside and when it cooled down, we sat on the first deck comfortably.
5Taking the Night Boat [from] and to Albany
Enjoyed the trip very much. There is an old song about "Taking the Night Boat to Albany." We were saying it would be fabulous for one of the area museums to sponsor a special tour in which musicians play period music and people are encouraged to wear clothing reminiscent or like that of the 1920s. The song "Why Do They All Take the Night Boat to Albany?" was written for the 1918 musical Sinbad and was also performed by Al Jolson around that time, with a popular recording date noted as April 29, 1918. The song features music by Jean Schwartz and lyrics by Sam M. Lewis and Joe Young.

About Albany
Albany is the capital of New York, a Hudson River city of Dutch roots, a grand Capitol and a bold modernist plaza of towers and a museum.
Albany stands on the west bank of the Hudson River, where it began in the 1620s as a Dutch fur-trading post called Fort Orange, and it received a city charter in 1686, one of the oldest in the country. The New York State Capitol, finished in 1899 after three decades of work, is a heavily carved building in a mix of styles with an ornate stone staircase. Below it, the Empire State Plaza, a complex of white marble towers and an egg-shaped performing arts hall from the 1960s and 1970s, is a very different statement.
