Experience the best of Ajman

Ajman's corniche runs beside a broad beach of soft white sand, quieter than those of its larger neighbours, with cafés and resorts along the promenade. The Ajman Museum occupies an old fort with watchtowers, displaying weapons, manuscripts and re-creations of traditional life.

The dhow-building yard on the creek is one of the few places where these wooden boats are still made by hand, and the fish market and souks nearby keep a traditional rhythm. The Al Zorah nature reserve protects mangroves where flamingos and herons feed, and kayaking through its channels is peaceful.

Ajman also includes the mountain enclaves of Masfout and Manama inland, with farms and rocky hills. Its position beside Sharjah and close to Dubai makes it a calm base for exploring the region, and seafood and Emirati dishes fill the local tables. The best weather comes from late autumn to early spring, while summer is very hot and humid.
