Course 1: Miraesa & Hinoki Cypress Forest Let the gentle breeze carry the rich scent of hinoki cypress through the air, and take a moment to listen to the soft rustling of the leaves. About Tongyeong
Tongyeong is a port city on Korea's south coast, set among islands and linked to Admiral Yi Sun-sin, with a mural village, a cable car and fresh seafood.
Tongyeong sits on a peninsula on the south coast, facing a sea scattered with islands, and is sometimes called the Naples of Korea. In the 1590s Admiral Yi Sun-sin based the Korean fleet near here, and his victories over the Japanese navy, including the battle off Hansan Island, are remembered at Chungnyeolsa shrine and the Jeseungdang hall on the island.
