Journey from Underberg into the heart of the Drakensberg on one of Southern Africa’s most iconic Private mountain adventures. Travelling in a comfortable 4×4 with our expert guides, you’ll climb the legendary Sani Pass, a dramatic ascent of winding switchbacks, soaring cliffs, and breathtaking viewpoints, before crossing into the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. Enjoy time to explore local curio shops, visit a traditional Basotho homestead, taste warm bread baked on an open fire, and experience authentic Lesotho song and dance. Lunch is enjoyed either at the Highest Pub in Africa (subject to availability) or a lovely local restaurant, before we descend the pass and return to Underberg in the late afternoon.

The Sani Pass Day Tour kicks off from either Underberg or Himeville. Departure times are flexible on our private tours.
Experience the breathtaking Sani Pass in complete luxury with our Private Day Tour. Enjoy exclusive access to a 4×4 vehicle and an expert guide, allowing you to explore at your own pace and giving you the flexibility to dive into any aspects that may pique your specific interests, whether that be the unique flora and fauna, birding, or the rich culture and history of Lesotho.
On reaching the summit we will make another brief stop to stamp passports at the Lesotho Border Post while you’ll also get to shop for some local curios.
Visit an authentic Basotho home & enjoy freshly baked local bread.
Enjoy a cold beer and a hearty lunch at the Highest Pub in Africa, or an authentic local restaurant, the choice is yours.
We begin our decent back down the Sani Pass
Arrival back in Underberg / Himeville.
