5Interssant bezoek aan Pompei en de Vesuvius
We had a wonderful visit to Mount Vesuvius with our guide Mario from Askos Tours. He was very friendly and took the time to answer everyone’s questions, making us all feel welcome. His knowledge of Vesuvius, its history, and the wider Naples area really added to the experience. He also shared some great tips for exploring Naples and choosing which attractions to visit. Thank you, Mario, for making our visit so enjoyable and informative. We would highly recommend him and Askos Tours!
5Combination Pompeii and Vesuvius tour
I did the combination tour with Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. After taking the guided tour in Pompeii, I can’t imagine trying to stumble my way through that amazing site without a guide. Their process is pretty easy to follow. Just make sure you’re there 15 minutes prior to the departure and everything will work out fine. There’s also a place to store your luggage for five dollars a bag. The Mount Vesuvius part of the tour wasn’t too physically taxing. They provide a shuttle and a guide for that as well. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends.
5Excellent Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius Tour
My wife, daughter, and I had an excellent experience on this tour, which was divided into two parts. Our Pompeii guide, Paulo, was extremely knowledgeable and did a great job bringing the history of Pompeii to life. He was engaging, informative, and very personable. Our Mount Vesuvius guide, Mario, was also excellent and very knowledgeable. The climb can be physically challenging due to the steep and uneven terrain, but Mario did a great job periodically stopping to let everyone rest and catch their breath before continuing. The spectacular views from the top were well worth the effort. Both tours were very well done, and our guides made the experience especially enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour- it was a highlight of our trip to Naples.
5Pompeii & Mt. Vesuvius
Both of my guides were great and I enjoyed both tours because of them. I did the Pompeii ruins tour first and the guide was very informative and enthusiastic about the history as she was an archeologist herself (I don't remember her name unfortunately). She managed to take us through the majority of the ruins within 2 hours, and answered all of my questions. She made the tour much more enjoyable. Then I had the Mt. Vesuvius tour with Mario and he was great! He shared a lot of interesting facts about the volcano and surrounding area, and he even suggested places to visit in Naples. Both guides were lovely and made the experience that much more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend both of them!
4Walking through time
Pompeii is an experience like no other. It was very crowded and seemed liked organized chaos, but our guide Paulo was wonderful. He was great at taking us away from the large crowds and showing us the highlights while also giving us some perspective of what life was like for the citizens before the eruption. 2hours was probably not enough but it was hot and crowded so we were happy to leave. The second half of our excursion was hiking up Vesuvius, being avid hikers it was enjoyable for us but was challenging for some folks. Again our guide was personable and very informative. We had a great group of people which also made it enjoyable!
5Amazinc
Mario and our bus driver did an amazing job driving us around and sharing interesting information about all the places we visited. They were both friendly, helpful, and made the journey really enjoyable. In Pompeii, Marelyn was also fantastic. She did an excellent job explaining what we were seeing and pointing out all the interesting and fascinating details throughout the ruins. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, a great experience with a wonderful team. Highly recommended!

About Pompeii
Pompeii is a Roman town near Naples frozen in ash when Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD 79, with streets, villas and frescoes preserved beneath the volcano.
Pompeii was a thriving Roman town when Vesuvius buried it under ash and pumice in AD 79. Excavation, begun in the eighteenth century, has uncovered paved streets with stepping stones, shops, bakeries, bathhouses and the forum. The amphitheatre, among the oldest Roman ones to survive, and the grand House of the Faun show the range of life, and plaster casts of the dead record the final moments of some residents.
