Highlights

We will visit the sanctuary of the white-faced capuchin monkeys, the most intelligent species of monkeys in the new world. Our visit will be safe and informative for everyone, from children to adults. We’ll learn about their family organization, alphas, and betas, and how to calculate their age. During these tours people are not allowed to touch the animals, but animals if they feel comfortable allowed to touch people. They are still wild animals and we are not violating their habitat. We don't allowed to feed them as well We’ll then see the crocodiles of Rio Grande de Tarcoles and enjoy the local souvenir sale and a buffet-style restaurant. We can choose to admire the crocodiles from the bridge or take a boat tour for an extra $43. The boat tour lasts approximately 1:40 minutes and includes bird watching and a naturalist guide. We’ll then go to a hidden beach in Jaco to see the sloths. We’ll sit on chairs, have a table, and I’ll serve drinks and snacks.

  • 5Amazing tour

Gerold was amazing, I can’t say enough about him. His knowledge of the tour along with the culture was impeccable. He spent more time with us than expected. Lunch was great. He is the best tour guide in CR by far. This is an amazing tour! We got to feed the monkeys, see a sloth and visit the white sand beach at our leisure, not rushed! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour with Gerold!!

  • 5Monkeys, sloths, and Crocs

The guide was enthusiastic to show us the monkeys. The crocodile boat ride was fantastic. We got to touch a crocodile in the water. He even found us a sloth at the beach we went to.

  • 5Best. Time. Ever.

We had so much fun on this excursion! Geirold was the absolute best! He knew the perfect spot to see the monkeys and had an incredible talent for spotting the sloths hiding way up in the trees. He truly made the experience memorable for our first time in Costa Rica! Highly recommended!

  • 5This was definitely a thrill and highly recommended!

At first I was scared to go on this tour but it actually was a great experience! We saw tons of animals and definitely a lot of crocodiles. He keep your hands on the boat!

  • 5Lucky enough to see all three animals featured in the tour title!

Pick-up and drop-off was from our condo tower, and right on time. Roy and Geirold were an excellent team! On our first stop, we saw monkeys! Note that it is not a petting zoo and monkeys are free in the forest, so they “may” come see you . In our case, they did! The crocodiles are also “free” down in the river so we observed them from the bridge. As for the one sloth we encountered after a short hike in the forest, it was high up in a tree. Without our guide Geirold, we would have never seen it! As promised we stopped for a delicious brunch in a Soda. There was a nice gift shop and clean restrooms.
