L'Etna è il più alto vulcano attivo terrestre della placca euroasiatica. È stato dichiarato patrimonio dell’umanità dall’Unesco. Partendo dal villaggio di Nicolosi, salirai verso la sua cima attraverso vigneti e vallate fatte di lava stratificata. A un certo punto, ti ritroverai in un paesaggio “lunare”. A circa duemila metri di altezza, raggiungerai i Monti Silvestri, due crateri inattivi. Il cratere inferiore è facilmente accessibile e si può anche entrare al suo interno. Se te la senti, puoi provare anche l'escursione al cratere superiore. È più faticosa e richiede una piccola scalata, ma ne vale la pena: una volta in cima, vedrai il cratere inferiore con i suoi colori rossastri e, in lontananza, il Golfo di Catania. Il tour si conclude con una visita panoramica del centro storico di Catania, lungo via Etnea, piazza duomo con l elefante , piazza Stesicoro , Breve sosta e rientro al terminal crociere di Catania

About Catania
Catania, on Sicily's east coast, is a black lava-stone city beneath Mount Etna, with a noisy fish market, Baroque squares and a long seafront.
Catania lies at the foot of Mount Etna, the active volcano whose lava reached the city in 1669, and an earthquake in 1693 flattened it. Rebuilt in the eighteenth century in the Baroque style, it uses black lava stone for walls and paving, set against white limestone. The Piazza del Duomo has an elephant of lava stone carrying an obelisk, the cathedral of Sant'Agata, and a fountain.
