Highlights
Once the tour is booked, you can go to the rental point to pick up the bicycles and start the experience with the virtual guide, which accompanies you step by step along the route. The loop tour starts from Certaldo and covers about 28 km with 400 m of elevation gain, on a scenic and pleasant route through the hills of Val d'Elsa. The route alternates quiet secondary roads, rural stretches, light dirt roads, and regular ups and downs, crossing vineyards, olive groves, and estates. One of the most evocative spots is near the Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel in Semifonte, surrounded by vineyards and vast views of the Tuscan countryside. Along the route there are several ideal spots for a break or some photos. The final part leads to Certaldo Alto, the medieval village that overlooks the valley and represents one of the most scenic moments of the tour, before returning to the starting point.

Itinerary
Certaldo is one of the most fascinating medieval villages in Valdelsa, developed on the summit of a hill and inhabited since the Etruscan era. The historic center preserves walls, towers, and the famous Palazzo Pretorio. It is known above all as the village of Giovanni Boccaccio, author of the Decameron, who lived part of his life here.
San Donnino, in the territory of Certaldo, is a small locality nestled in the hills of the Valdelsa, between vineyards and Tuscan countryside. The area is linked to the history of the nearby Semifonte, a powerful medieval city destroyed by the Florentines in 1202. A short distance away rises the Dome of Saint Michael the Archangel, built in the sixteenth century in memory of the ancient center and inspired by the dome of the Florence Cathedral.

About San Gimignano
San Gimignano, in Tuscany, is a hill town of medieval stone towers, built on a ridge above the vineyards of the Elsa valley.
San Gimignano rises on a hilltop in the Tuscan countryside south-west of Florence, its skyline pricked by medieval towers built by rival families as symbols of wealth. More than a dozen still stand. The town is listed by UNESCO, and its stone streets run between two gates to the Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square with a thirteenth-century well, beside the Piazza del Duomo.
