Our next stop is the Castle of Good Hope, South Africa’s oldest colonial building. This star-shaped fortress has a chilling history of imprisonment, torture, and ghost sightings. Discover the stories of its haunted dungeons and the spirits that are said to roam its corridors.
A brief walk brings us to the District Six Museum, where we delve into the dark history of apartheid and forced removals. The museum stands as a testament to the vibrant community that was destroyed and the lingering pain of its former residents.
The Slave Lodge, now a museum, housed enslaved people brought to the Cape. Explore the harsh conditions they endured and the stories of their lives and resistance. This building is a poignant reminder of the city’s involvement in the transatlantic slave trade.
Take a break to enjoy some local cuisine at Truth Coffee Roasting, renowned for its steampunk-inspired décor and exceptional coffee. This is an opportunity to discuss what you’ve learned so far and reflect on the tour’s themes
After lunch, we’ll stroll through the Company’s Garden, established by the Dutch East India Company. While it appears serene today, the garden has a history of colonial exploitation and serves as a backdrop to tales of old Cape Town.
The Granary building has served various roles, from a women’s prison to a magistrate’s court. Today, it’s home to the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation. Learn about the darker aspects of its past and its evolution over time
Known for its vibrant nightlife, Long Street also has its share of ghost stories. We’ll visit a historic building reputed to be haunted and hear tales of spectral sightings and eerie occurrences that continue to intrigue locals and visitors alike.

About Cape Town
Cape Town spreads between Table Mountain and the sea, a striking city of beaches, vineyards, penguins and history near Africa's southwestern tip.
Table Mountain's flat summit looms over everything, reached by cableway or by hiking trails, with Lion's Head and Signal Hill flanking it. Below, the V&A Waterfront bustles around the working harbour, and boats leave from there for Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was held for eighteen years. The colourful houses of Bo-Kaap climb the slopes above the city centre and the Company's Garden.
Top-ranked sights in Cape Town: Boulders Beach, Cape of Good Hope, Chapman’s Peak Drive.
