Expedition loaded with emotions without equal, so much for the magnitude of the landscapes, the rough weather, the work of the mules, guides and baqueanos, added to the historical stamp that is printed in each moment in each camp, where in a certain way we relived the epic of that great patriot Don José de San Martín and his liberating troops, who chose these ravines, mountain ranges, valleys and steps to start our freedom as a country and as a continent. • 5An amazing expedition you will remember for a lifetime!!

Crossing the Andes on horseback was an amazing authentic experience!! We spent 5 nights sleeping in tents under beautiful starry skies. Every day was new magnificent scenery. We saw condors and guanacos. Cristian, the guide, is incredibly knowledgeable about the region. The whole trip was organized very well. It's adventurous, exhilarating and historical! Thanks to Cristian, Lucho, Jose and Nacho! And Cracky - the trusty mule. ;)

About San Juan

San Juan is the capital of its Argentine province, a low-rise city in a desert valley below the Andes, at the heart of a major wine region.

San Juan lies in the Tulum Valley, an irrigated oasis in western Argentina, with the dry foothills of the Andes close on every side. An earthquake in 1944 flattened most of the old city, so the centre was rebuilt low and wide, with broad avenues, tree-shaded plazas and a modern cathedral. Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, the educator and later president, was born here, and his house is now a museum.

Top-ranked sights in San Juan: Condado Lagoon (Laguna del Condado).
