1We were stuck in traffic, had a 6 hour drive, and we missed the train in St Moritz
We were stuck, stopped in traffic for about 3 hours north of Milan because heavy rains had caused a lake to overflow and flood a road the night before. We then stopped at a rest stop to use the bathrooms. The guide suggested we get some lunch now, to be safe, which I took to mean we might not even have time to grab a sandwich in St Moritz! Then there was some more stopped traffic in a town north of Lake Como, to the point where we sat in one spot for 20 minutes! This was due to the road being repaved. So our time in St Moritz was originally supposed to be around 2 hours, then it got reduced to "you'll have time to grab something there to bring on the train" to "we should just barely make the train" to "we won't make St Moritz, so we'll join the train at the next stop". This caused us not to arrive at the train until 6 hours after leaving Milan, which caused us to miss the train in St Moritz completely and join it at the next station, around 2:00 pm. We didn't go to St Moritz at all even though my wife and I were looking forward to going shopping for Swiss chocolate and such. Yes, the tour company can't predict the weather or bad traffic, but how long have they been running this tour? Do they not know the lake can flood and close the road? How did they not know traffic was stopped because of road work? How come they don't monitor weather and road conditions to know what to expect later in the day? I think they should have offered everyone a choice before we boarded the bus: spend 6 hours in traffic and go anyway, or offer to reschedule to another day, or offer a refund. So while the train journey was great, I don't know if it was worth the 6 hours in traffic.

Had a great trip travelling on the Bernina line from St Moritz to Torano. Lots to see on the journey, would recommend sitting on the right hand side of the train.
5The St. Maritz, Swiss Alps and the Bernina Express experience
Our guide was Ornella and our driver was Paolo. Ornella was very knowledgeable and very proud of her city, Milan. She pointed us all the interesting places along the way to St Moritz and the Bernina Express. Paolo was a very good driver specially at the several hairpin turns. We would love to have them again in our next travels.
5A Fantastic Day in the Swiss Alps!
What a fantastic day! I really enjoyed this tour from start to finish. We got to see so much along the way, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. It was a great way to experience St. Moritz and the Swiss Alps, with the Bernina train journey definitely being one of the highlights. A special mention to our guide, Ornella, who was fantastic. She was warm, knowledgeable and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A long day, but absolutely worth it. I would definitely recommend this tour!

About Milan
Milan is Italy's stylish northern powerhouse of fashion and design, with a soaring Gothic cathedral, Leonardo's Last Supper and canal-side evenings.
The Duomo, a forest of white marble spires and statues that took centuries to complete, dominates the city centre, and its roof terraces put you among the pinnacles. Beside it, the glass-roofed Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II leads to La Scala opera house, and the Sforza Castle holds museums including Michelangelo's final sculpture, the Rondanini Pietà.
Top-ranked sights in Milan: Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano), Da Vinci's Last Supper (Il Cenacolo), La Scala (Teatro alla Scala).
