Itinerary
Circumnavigation of the Castel dell'Ovo, the oldest castle in the city of Naples and is one of the elements that stand out most in the famous panorama of the gulf. It is located between the districts of San Ferdinando and Chiaia, in front of via Partenope. Seen from the sea it is a poem.
Palazzo Donn'Anna, located at the beginning of via Posillipo, is a monumental palace from the 17th century, as well as one of the most famous palaces in Naples.
Stop for a swim in front of Villa Lauro, in the Cineto bay under the Posillipo hill.
Villa Rosebery, renamed "Maria Pia" in 1934, is a monumental complex, one of the main landmarks of neoclassicism in Naples. The villa was built as a royal residence; it is located in the Posillipo district [1] [2] and is one of the three official residences of the President of the Italian Republic and for this reason it cannot be visited, except at certain times of the year. It has an area of 66,056 square meters.
In ancient times the village, developed around via Marechiaro, took its name from the church of Santa Maria del Faro. The name Marechiaro does not come, as is commonly thought, from the transparency of the waters of the Posillipo sea, but from their quiet. Already in some documents of the Kingdom of Sicily we speak of mare planum translated into Neapolitan mare chianu from which today's Marechiaro.
The island of Gaiola is one of the smaller islands of Naples; it is located opposite the coast of Posillipo, in the submerged park of Gaiola.
Nisida is a small island belonging to the archipelago of the Flegree islands, located on the far reaches of the Posillipo hill, in a place called Coroglio. From an administrative point of view it is part of Bagnoli, a district of the municipality of Naples. The island is not accessible as it houses the Juvenile Penal Institute of Naples, and its small port towards Coroglio was used by NATO until its transfer.

About Naples
Passionate and chaotic beneath Vesuvius, Naples is the birthplace of pizza and the gateway to Pompeii, Capri and the Amalfi Coast.
The historic centre, a dense grid of streets laid out by the ancient Greeks, is a world of churches, street shrines and laundry strung between balconies. Spaccanapoli cuts straight through it, Via San Gregorio Armeno is lined with nativity-scene workshops, and the Sansevero Chapel holds the astonishing Veiled Christ. Underground, tunnels and cisterns reveal the Greek and Roman city below.
Top-ranked sights in Naples: Mt. Vesuvius (Monte Vesuvio), Via dei Tribunali, Naples Historic Center (Napoli Centro Storico).
