5Conor is the best!
We had a great time with Conor on the Toe Head Hike! He was very friendly and gave us a great history of that area of Ireland. He was extremely knowledgeable and is a great story teller! We will 100% be going back to this hike next time we're in Ireland!
5A Highlight of My Trip to Ireland
After almost two weeks in Ireland, this was by far one of the highlights of my trip. Conor was an incredible storyteller and guide, and the hike itself was absolutely breathtaking. I learned so much about Ireland, its history, and Irish culture, and came away with an experience I’ll never forget. If you’re thinking about doing something with Gormú or Conor, don’t hesitate. Just do it! You won’t regret it.
5More Than Just a Hike
We honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Conor. Our hike to see the Tow Head cliffs has become, without a doubt, our favorite part of our trip — and we have been talking about it nonstop ever since! Conor was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the area. Along the way, he shared the history of the sites and the surrounding area, as well as stories and folklore that brought everything to life. It felt like we weren’t just taking a hike; we were being welcomed into the history and stories of the place. The walk itself was easy and absolutely beautiful, but what made the experience truly special was everything that happened along the way. At the end of the hike, we sat on the beach and enjoyed cookies and tea that Conor and his wife had thoughtfully provided. It was such a simple gesture, but it made the experience feel incredibly personal and welcoming. And then, as if the day couldn’t get any better, a neighborhood farm dog joined us on the beach! He clearly knew Conor well and was so friendly — the perfect, unexpected cherry on top of an already amazing experience. Conor made this hike so much more than a sightseeing excursion. It was relaxing, memorable, personal, and filled with beautiful scenery, history, stories, and genuine Irish hospitality. We will remember this experience for a very long time and would absolutely recommend Conor to anyone visiting the area. If you’re considering booking a tour with him, do it — you won’t regret it!
5Hike for the heart and soul
Undoubtedly the best guided hike I was ever on! This opens your ears and eyes and heart to how rich in beauty, history and folklore West Cork is. This hike allows you to unravel and rewind your memory and walk through reminders of all the different chapters of Irish History while having the most incredible scenery, soundscape and scents to embellish it. Conor's knowledge of the rich local history was matched by his knowledge of all the fauna, flowers and folklore of the area. Who knew there were more than 80 different varieties of blackberries in Ireland! The hike was finished off to perfection with a final story on the picturesque Tráigh Liceach washed down with coffee and fresh home made baking.
4Toe Head Trek
This was a Fathers Day present. Highly recommended trek around Toe Head spectacular scenery and so full of history & stories - Conor our tour guide and story teller was excellent and extremely knowledgeable- Toe Head is a hidden gem - coffee and home made biscuits in the beach at the end was lovely - we’l be back again
5Bilingual walking experience at Toe Head.
Gormú facilitated a wonderful bilingual walk around beautiful Toe Head for our Irish language group. Conor was a fabulously informed guide whose love for the landscape, wildlife, flora and culture of his native place shone through with every step. He also has a fabulous repetoire of stories drawn from the ancient mythology and more recent history of the area. The three hour walk concluded with coffee and treats on Traligach beach.

About Cork
Cork is Ireland's second city, a river town of steep lanes, a covered market, church bells and a strong food reputation.
Cork centres on an island in the River Lee, with channels of water, bridges and a mix of Georgian streets and Victorian shopfronts. The English Market, a covered food hall that dates to 1788, sells fish, cheese, spiced beef and baked goods. St Anne's Shandon has a tower topped by a golden salmon, and visitors can ring its bells. St Fin Barre's Cathedral rises in the French Gothic style.
