5A must
Great introduction to 6000 years of history visible in the streets of Sofia. A cross road in Europe.
4Great Value
Overall it was a really nice experience! Ivo was intensely knowledgeable about the history and culture of Bulgaria along with Sofia and shared much of what he knew. My only qualm of the tour was that we didn’t learn much about the customs or culture itself of Bulgaria. I would have liked to have learned more about the language, the food itself, and mannerisms of the locals. Still a great tour and would recommend.
5Walking tour Sofia
I had a great time on the walking tour of Sofia with Ivo as our guide. The tour was really interesting, and I learned a lot about the city’s history and culture. He was an excellent storyteller which made the tour engaging and enjoyable. He also took the time to answer all the questions from the group. Highly recommended!
5Inspiring tour, especially for an American, especially right now.
Slavyan did an amazing job keeping the tour entertaining, serious, and emotional but most importantly, educational. I don't identify with any religion, but understanding the history, persecution, amazing intertheological support and general migration of people in Bulgaria was truly fascinating.
5Excellent walking tour!
The tour was excellent! Our guide, Martin, was friendly, had excellent English skills, and had a good sense of humor. Highly recommended!
5Wonderful and recommend
It was wonderful Slavian was a wonderful guide Very knowledgeable If I had the time I would have taken all their tours. Pity I haven’t discovered them before to be able to use their tours outside Sofia too. It is the first time I walked with free tours that are professional and licensed!!

About Sofia
Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, lies below Vitosha mountain, mixing Roman ruins, golden-domed churches, mineral springs and a busy café culture.
Sofia sits in a high basin at the foot of Mount Vitosha, and its centre layers Roman Serdica, Orthodox Bulgaria and the Ottoman and Soviet eras. The gold-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, completed in the early twentieth century, is the city's best-known building. Close by are the fourth-century rotunda of St George, the Banya Bashi Mosque and the remains of Roman streets that show through glass in the metro stations.
Top-ranked sights in Sofia: Rila Monastery, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Ivan Vazov National Theatre.
