Itinerary

  1. Hammamet, a lively seaside resort in summer, is famous for its beaches and its festive atmosphere, but it is also a small town with authentic charm. Its turquoise waters, the scent of jasmine, its white houses and its stone walls gilded by the centuries ... its medina bordered by fine sand is particularly poetic. Admire its Fort, located at the corner of the outer wall, which was enlarged in the 16th century by the Turks during their war against the Spanish for control of Tunisia. Stroll through the old medina and climb the Ribat to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea. Discover Yasmine Hammamet and have a coffee, a drink or lunch in its Marina.

    2 h

  2. Continue to Monastir and explore the beautiful promenade along the seafront: the marina, the Ribat esplanade, the cemetery dominated by narrow minarets and the Bourguiba mausoleum. Climb the 90 steep steps to the Ribat watchtower for a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and surrounding beaches. Admire the ancient golden stones of its towers, its ramparts and the nearby mosque. Then, delve into the cobbled streets of the medina. Browse the souks where stalls are full of fragrant spices and beautiful handicrafts: leather bags, blankets, woven baskets ... Head to the lively quays and the fishing port.

    3 h

  3. Explore Sousse, with its long beaches, ancient stones and tall palm trees… Sousse is a city full of seduction where entertainment and exoticism coexist harmoniously. As a large modern city, it is one of the liveliest seaside resorts in Tunisia. As a historic city, it has preserved a magnificent medina and exceptional monuments dating back to the Middle Ages. Just a few minutes away, a tourist town with Andalusian charm has been specially built for holidaymakers around a marina: the integrated complex of Port El Kantaoui which you will also visit.

About Tunis

Tunis is the capital of Tunisia, a Mediterranean city of a walled medina, Roman mosaics, ancient Carthage and the blue-and-white village of Sidi Bou Said.

Tunis grew around its medina, a World Heritage maze of vaulted lanes, mosques, palaces and souks that spreads from the Zitouna Mosque. The souks specialise: perfumes, gold, leather and the red felt caps called chechia each have their own alleys. The medina is entered through Bab el Bhar, the French Gate, from the broad Avenue Habib Bourguiba, which has French colonial buildings and cafés and runs to the cathedral of St Vincent de Paul.
