  • 5Golden Bay - a brillliant day!

We took this trip at the very beginning of March and it was one of the best experiences of our entire six week trip to New Zealand. Wonderful scenery; amazing views, delightful walks, beautiful beaches (morning coffee and snacks on one) and lunch in Takaka. What made the trip so memorable was Sonia, our guide/driver, whose knowledge and attention to detail was exceptional. Thank you, Sonia. Very highly recommend this trip.

  • 5Great tour

We visited Nelson on a cruise ship and were looking for a tour to show us as much of the area as possible. This tour did that and more. We were the only two that booked but the company did not cancel, which we appreciate. Our guide, Will, picked us up in a very comfortable van. We drove through Nelson and over the mountain (365 turns each way), making several stops to see local view points, a palm forest, and a beautifully clear stream and pool. We also stopped at a nice local cafe for lunch (included) and for fresh fruit ice cream on the way back. Will had quite a bit of local information and we enjoyed his commentary. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Will and highly recommend this tour.

About Nelson

Nelson is a sunny city on Tasman Bay at the top of New Zealand's South Island, close to Abel Tasman National Park, craft studios, orchards and vineyards.

Nelson sits on Tasman Bay at the northern end of the South Island, backed by hills and facing a wide, sheltered bay, and has a reputation as one of New Zealand's sunniest places. Begun as a planned settlement of the early 1840s, it is a compact city with a hilltop cathedral, a long waterfront and a lively arts scene of potters, glassblowers and weavers.
