Itinerary
Step into one of the most mysterious and historically significant sites of the ancient world. The Tophet of Carthage is a sacred Phoenician burial ground dating back to the 8th century BC, where urns containing the ashes of children and animals were ceremonially interred. Stroll among the ancient stelae, carved stone markers etched with dedications to the gods Baal Hammon and Tanit, and feel the weight of thousands of years of history beneath your feet. Your guide will bring this enigmatic site to life, sharing the latest archaeological discoveries and the ongoing debates that make Carthage one of the most fascinating civilizations of antiquity.
Catch a glimpse of what was once the most powerful naval port in the ancient Mediterranean as you pass by the legendary Punic Ports of Carthage. These two remarkable harbors, one circular for the navy and one rectangular for commerce, once sheltered hundreds of warships that made Carthage the dominant sea power of its time. A fascinating sight that speaks volumes about the might and ingenuity of the Carthaginian civilization.
Walk through the breathtaking ruins of the largest Roman baths ever built on African soil. The Baths of Antoninus stand as a testament to the grandeur of Roman Carthage, with towering columns and vast foundations stretching along the seafront. Your guide will paint a vivid picture of what this monumental complex looked like in its heyday, when thousands of Carthaginians gathered here daily to bathe, socialize, and conduct business, all against the stunning backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea.
Marvel at the ancient Carthage Roman Theatre, a beautifully restored venue that once entertained thousands of spectators with plays, musical performances, and public events. Carved into the hillside with sweeping views over the city, this impressive structure is a vivid reminder of the vibrant cultural life that thrived in Roman Carthage. Your guide will walk you through its rich history, from its origins in antiquity to its modern revival as a stage for the renowned Carthage International Festival.
Climb to the heart of ancient Carthage atop Byrsa Hill, the legendary citadel where the great city was said to have been founded by Queen Dido. From this elevated vantage point, enjoy sweeping panoramic views over the Gulf of Tunis while exploring the remarkably preserved ruins of a Punic neighborhood dating back to the 2nd century BC. The adjacent Carthage National Museum houses an outstanding collection of Phoenician and Roman artifacts that bring the full sweep of Carthaginian civilization to life.
Wander through the enchanting blue and white village of Sidi Bou Said, perched high above the Mediterranean with breathtaking views over the Gulf of Tunis. Lose yourself in the narrow cobblestone streets lined with jasmine-draped doorways, vibrant bougainvillea, and charming artisan boutiques. The highlight of your visit is a well-deserved break at one of the village’s iconic cafés, where you will sip traditional mint tea or freshly brewed coffee while soaking in the timeless beauty of one of Tunisia’s most beloved destinations.

5moises is the best of the best
moises is a fabulous and knowledgeable guide on all things tunis. i’d highly recommend his tour to carthage and sidi bou said to folks who enjoy a well-rounded experience of history, culture and some shopping! even outside of his tour you can ask him for recommendations on anything and he will point you in the right direction 😊
5Great experience in Tunis
Moises was a great guide for this tour of Carthage and Sidi Bou Said! This tour was offered at a convenient time and Moises and his friend were very informative and welcoming. They even invited me to a personal friend’s event they were attending. I felt very welcome and enjoyed the tour.
5Carthage tour
Moez is a very valuable and experienced guide. Through his tour you will learn a lot about the history of Carthage and discover many things about the culture, people living at the time and religious connecting facts. He will also guide you to local places and nice view spots of the city, that maybe you wouldn't have seen as travelling on your own. I spent a lovely day, feeling like a local and part of the society. I think I didn't only receive a nice tour but also an insight of local life style. This is what for me means making unforgettable life experiences while travelling. He also became for me a trusted contact for colleagues and people coming to visit the country. I feel like a have a piece of family in Tunis too now. 😃 😊
5Amazing experience with Moez
Amazing experience with Moez I had a wonderful experience and I am very happy with the tour. Moez is a very respectful, honest and kind person with a genuinely good heart. I felt comfortable and safe with him throughout the whole experience. He was professional, patient and very helpful. For me, the most important thing was not only the tour itself, but also the way he treated me as a person. When I come back to Tunisia with my family or friends, I would be very happy to contact Moez again for another trip, for example to Hammamet or Monastir. Thank you Moez for the great experience. Highly recommended! ❤️
5Hard to find guide tours like Moises - amazing.
If you are looking for a passionate guided tour in Carthage or Tunis - this is it. Moises is the best. He is a great storyteller who took us over the important parts of Carthage history, then went on to show us some extra landmarks that he found cool. Continued our path to Sidi bou said to share some more landmarks that are truly hidden without a proper guide, and had some local food treats!! Truly, Amazing experience, and an upgrade you can’t miss on your trip. We would book any tour with him again.
5Back for round two and still perfect
Second tour with Wassim and again no complaints. Carthage was BURNING hot that day but the car was air conditioned so we survived lol. Sidi Bou Said was my favourite, so pretty, we took way too many photos there. Thanks again Wassim, see you next time!

About Tunis
Tunis is the capital of Tunisia, a Mediterranean city of a walled medina, Roman mosaics, ancient Carthage and the blue-and-white village of Sidi Bou Said.
Tunis grew around its medina, a World Heritage maze of vaulted lanes, mosques, palaces and souks that spreads from the Zitouna Mosque. The souks specialise: perfumes, gold, leather and the red felt caps called chechia each have their own alleys. The medina is entered through Bab el Bhar, the French Gate, from the broad Avenue Habib Bourguiba, which has French colonial buildings and cafés and runs to the cathedral of St Vincent de Paul.
