The beautiful ancient temples with guardian statues covered in moss also feature throughout the forest.
After that we will take you to one of the most iconic attractions here, the Tegallalang Rice Terraces. These steeply terraced rice fields curve down into the bottom of the valley and are built to enable rice farming on the steep land. About Ubud
Ubud is Bali's cultural heart, a town of temples, craft villages and dance set among rice terraces and river gorges in the island's green uplands.
The town centres on the Ubud Palace and the busy market opposite, with traditional dance performed in temple courtyards in the evenings. Saraswati Temple's lotus ponds sit just off the main road, and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary shelters long-tailed macaques among moss-covered shrines and giant banyan trees.
Top-ranked sights in Ubud: Tegalalang Rice Terrace (Sawah Terasering Tegalalang), Tegenungan Waterfall (Air Terjun Tegenungan), Tirta Empul Temple (Pura Tirta Empul).
