Dans la ville zimbabwéenne de Victoria Falls, le Zambèze se jette dans une gorge étroite dans un rugissement d'embruns, de brume et d'arcs-en-ciel.

Connues localement sous le nom de Mosi-oa-Tunya, la Fumée qui tonne, les chutes s'étendent sur bien plus d'un kilomètre à travers le fleuve Zambèze, et les embruns montent si haut qu'on les voit de très loin.
