Itinerary
We will have the option to ascend one of the most active volcanoes in South America with a height of 2,847 meters. In the ascent, we can experience the mountaineering in different phases, from walking with sticks towards the summit, to hiking with crampons and an ice ax in more exposed areas, where always under the support of our expert guides, a significant mountain experience will be lived. On the summit, we can clearly observe the activity of this sacred volcano through its fumarole and if the weather allows us, we might be able to observe the incandescent magma inside. On the descent, the panoramic views of the lakes in the area and the geography of the place, will give us clear information of the unique natural environment where we are. We will be able to go down sections sliding on snow toboggans. We will climb 1,700 metres in elevation, with the possibility of taking a snow lift on the first stretch. 3 hours of the mentioned time are for transfers to this point

5Amazing volcano climb!!
Such an incredible experience! I’m studying abroad in Villarrica and wanted to climb the volcano before I departed. This exceeded my expectations.
5An incredible day in the Chilean mountains
What a fantastic day! It was a challenging but fun hike up, with some incredible views, one of the most rewarding experiences I had while in Chile! The experience was made even better by the guides, who were the ultimate mix of professionalism, motivation and fun!
5A challenging but worthwhile hike
If you’re planning this trip, I would recommend this company. We were welcomed by a member of staff in the office the day before who explained very clearly how the day would be organised so that we knew what to bring/what would be provided. On the day, with a group of eight people we had three guides. This was helpful as some people wanted to walk all the way and others use the ski lift for the first section. The weather was challenging but we made it to the top! All the guides were very encouraging and supportive at difficult times. Lots of advice was given to make the ascent as easy as possible.

The climb up Volcan Villarrica was absolutely incredible and one of the highlights of my trip to Chile! Everything was perfectly organized from the equipment and safety briefing to the entire execution of the tour. Our guides were extremely professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. They took great care of us the whole time, kept us motivated, shared lots of interesting information, and always made sure we were safe. We felt secure and well looked after at every moment. I can 100% recommend this tour!

I definitely recommend this trip! The guides were fantastic - they explained everything clearly, took great care of the group, and supported each person individually whenever needed. On top of that, they were such a lovely and friendly team! The climb was very well organized, and the experience of reaching the top of the volcano was truly one of the best I’ve ever had. Great team super professional and friendly. If it’s considered to be an accessible hike for inexperienced climbers it was still a challenging first time experience 😅 Special thanks to my guide Raúl who was very attentive and make sure to adapt the pace so that I will still safely enjoy the hike despite being challenging for me! 🙏 I highly recommend them !

About Pucón
Pucón is a lake resort in southern Chile on Lake Villarrica, beneath the snow-capped cone of Villarrica volcano and ringed by forest and hot springs.
Pucón lies on the southern shore of Lake Villarrica in the Araucanía region of Chile's Lake District, with the symmetrical cone of Villarrica volcano rising above the town. A main street of wooden buildings, adventure outfitters and cafés runs down to a beach of dark volcanic sand, where the lake stretches away to the west.
