  2. Next stop, Sólheimajökull is an outlet glacier coming down the fourth biggest glacier of Iceland, called Mýrdalsjökull. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the ice (one way). We can walk all the way to the glacier or walk halfway and enjoy the view of the glacier and the river.

    45 min

  3. A dramatic coastal promontory offering sweeping views of the South Coast, black sand beaches, and the famous Dyrhólaey arch. This is a perfect spot for birdwatching, including puffins during the summer months (May - August). Please note that road to Dyrhólaey may be closed during the winter months due to weather conditions.

    30 min

  4. Next stop Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland. The beach was once rated as one of the 10 most beautiful places in the world and as soon as you put a foot on the beach, you will know why. Basalt columns and the well known Reynisdrangar rock formations awaits you.

    40 min

  5. Short drive to our next stop. Vík í Mýrdal is a remote seafront village in south Iceland. It sits in the shadow of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, which covers the Katla volcano. We will drive up to the church where we can enjoy a great view of the coastline and the town. Lunch option in town.

    1 h

  6. Our last stop will be Seljalandsfoss. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljalandsá river, which has its origins in Eyjafjallajökull glacier. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it.

About Reykjavik

Reykjavik is the northernmost capital of any nation, a colourful, compact city of art and music that opens onto Iceland's volcanic landscapes.

The landmark Hallgrímskirkja church, its tower inspired by basalt columns, rises above streets of brightly painted houses. Down by the harbour, the glass-fronted Harpa concert hall shimmers on the water, and the Sun Voyager sculpture faces the sea toward Mount Esja. Laugavegur, the main shopping street, is lined with design shops, cafés and bars.

Top-ranked sights in Reykjavik: Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss, Harpa.
