5The tour was absolutely...
The tour was absolutely fantastic! Our driver, Jay, picked us up from the hotel right on time and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. We had great conversations and an amazing time at Mount Merapi and the caves. We highly recommend this tour! 👍🏻😊
5Amazing experience, please do this tour!
Amazing experience! My driver Bibis was so good and patience after this tour that lasted around 12-14 hours in total, he made the journey very easy between all the spots. The sunrise at Mount Merapi was lovely and thankfully we got a clear sky so we saw it without any clouds around, I must say the gem of this tour is definitely Jomblang Cave, I was so amazed on how big the cave is and also the light entering trough the top of the cave is one of those experiences on a lifetime, even if you have zero experience you can do this tour because all of the technical staff were very professional to go down the cave and help you. Pindul cave was also lovely but, I was a little underwhelmed of seeing the amount of plastic and trash around the river, with such a beautiful landscape it will be worth to spend some money and clean the river and the surroundings because it really was a beautiful spot, surrounded by rice fields and plantations.
5Great experience
So fun! Jomblang cave was a unique experience. You're manually lowered in and out of the cave two at a time so there can be a lot of waiting around. Overall, it felt safe (Even for children) and was an interesting experience. A lovely lunch is served once you are out of the cave. book in advance, you can't always get walk up tickets at the gate. Pindul Cave was really fun. My family loved the relaxing float through the cave and down the river. The water was warm and there were a couple opportunities to jump from vairing heights and swim. Pack a hat/sunglasses and a change of clothes.
5Our driver and guide...
Our driver and guide Bibis was an excellent help. Very flexible for all our needs, and very knowledgeable about every stop. The trip was in a spacious vehicle just for us and it doubled as a good meeting point and storage area for each of the stops. We were handed off to a professional guide at each stop that took us on the activity and dropped us back to Bibis. The exchange of money at each stop was handled by Bibis which simplified everything. No tips were requested or expected from anyone. There was no breakfast provided so we packed some snacks but lunch was provided and it was a simple and nutritious plate of chicken and rice which we had at the jomblang cave stop after completing the activity. It is a long day with a lot of physical exertion so be ready to get tired and bring water and a change of clothes.

About Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta is the cultural heart of Java, a university city with a sultan's palace, batik workshops and the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan close by.
The sultan of Yogyakarta is also the region's governor, and his walled palace, the Kraton, is still lived in and holds a museum and a court gamelan orchestra. Close by, the Taman Sari water castle, once the royal pleasure garden, has pools and passageways, and Malioboro Street runs through the centre with shops, becak pedicabs and food stalls. The city is also famed for batik, silverwork and shadow-puppet theatre.
Top-ranked sights in Yogyakarta: Prambanan Temple Complex (Taman Wisata Candi Prambanan), Mendut Temple (Candi Mendut), Jomblang Cave (Goa Jomblang).
