Itinerary

  1. Echoes of Elegance and Decay One of Mostar’s architectural gems, Hotel Neretva has recently been restored to reflect its original Austro-Hungarian elegance. Once left in ruins after the war, it stood for years as a symbol of destruction — often surrounded by raw graffiti and informal street art.

    10 min

  2. As you stand in front of these facades, you’ll hear stories about the artists behind them, the creative process, and what it means to live among this art every day — including personal memories from when these murals were being painted, and the time we spent with the artists during their breaks.

    40 min

  3. OKC Abrašević is not just a venue — it’s a living cultural hub. Surrounded by raw urban textures and experimental murals, this space has long been a meeting point for young creatives, activists, and artists.

    10 min

  4. The elegant Austro-Hungarian Mostar Gymnasium reflects the city’s multicultural past, while nearby graffiti and stencils show how young artists reclaim the space today. You’ll also see the Monument to the Spanish Fighters and hear how this area evolved — from wartime division to a space of expression, protest, and quiet reflection.

About Mostar

Mostar is the main city of Herzegovina, set on the Neretva River and known for its arched Ottoman bridge and the old bazaar around it.

Mostar takes its name from the bridge-keepers who once guarded the crossing, and the Old Bridge, Stari Most, is its symbol: a single high stone arch built by the Ottomans in 1566 over the green Neretva. It was destroyed in 1993 during the war and rebuilt, reopening in 2004, and the old town around it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cobbled lanes of the Kujundžiluk bazaar sell copperware and crafts.

Top-ranked sights in Mostar: Kravice Waterfall (Vodopad Kravica), Old Bridge (Stari Most), Blagaj Monastery (Blagaj Tekija).
