5Amazing, would highly recommend!
I would highly recommend UpClose Belize to anyone wanting to do an adventurous tour with informed tour guides all across Belize. We signed up for a tour of the Lamanai site and we thoroughly enjoyed our time.
5Perfect Mayan Ruins in Jungle
Perfect blend of private transfer, river boat, jungle scenery and Mayan ruins. These were my favorite ruins of five seen in two weeks.
5A Worthwhile And Enjoyable Experience
The trip up the river to see the wildlife was wonderful--there were birds and bats and plenty of iguanas enjoying their branches. The temples themselves are immensely beautiful, there were not many people there when we visited and the museum is small but informative. The one recommendation I would make is that the hike can be pretty strenuous to see the temples, as they are spread out over a considerable distance rather than centralized in a plaza as is the norm in Mayan cities, so if someone wants to do this visit they should be reasonably fit and in shape, and also equipped with plenty of bug spray.
1I had a very...
I had a very disappointing experience with this tour agency. Despite having a confirmed reservation, the agency appeared to have completely forgotten about my booking. I waited around 40 minutes before I was able to get a response. During the call, it became clear that they were not expecting me and had not arranged my pickup. They then attempted to have another agency take me on the tour instead. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and said I would be leaving a negative review, the conversation became unprofessional. I was shouted at, my reservation was marked as a no-show even though I had been waiting for pickup, and the call was ended while I was still speaking. Because the original booking was not honoured, I had to make separate arrangements and pay another agency directly in order to do the tour. Mistakes can happen, but the way the situation was handled afterwards was unacceptable. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

About Belize City
Belize City is a harbour town on the Caribbean, the country's largest city and the usual starting point for the cayes, the reef and Maya sites.
Belize City sits low on the Caribbean coast at the mouth of Haulover Creek, which divides the town in two, and an old swing bridge over the creek is its best-known landmark. It was the capital until the government moved inland to Belmopan in 1970 after a devastating hurricane, but it remains the biggest city and the main port. Wooden colonial houses stand beside newer buildings, and the Museum of Belize occupies a former prison.
