  • 5Insightful and Safe Tour of Valparasio

We felt like we were in really great hands on this tour and he showed us everything we wanted to see in this beautiful city. He was very capable of customizing the tour to our interests, including some curveballs like, "we like doors". We even got the chance to see some areas not normally accessible to the public. Christian's ability to infuse his own experiences, stories, and life into the tour really made the city feel alive. I hope Valparaiso finds its next Golden age.

  • 5The best way to experience Valparaiso

We had a fabulous private full day walking tour of Valparaiso. We learned So much about the history of the city from our very knowledgeable and friendly guide Christian and saw so much. We also had great coffee, a fantastic lunch and a fun (and delicious) ice treat in the hot afternoon! We loved every minute of it. This was the absolute best way to experience this fascinating city. We would definitely recommend Patatour Chile and our guide Christian. He is the embodiment of how to live a life while following one’s passion. A definite inspiration!!

  • 5Fantastic day in Valparaiso

We had an unforgettable day in Valparaiso with Cristian as our guide! From the start, he impressed us with his punctuality and warm demeanor. Cristian not only shared his extensive local knowledge but also took a genuine interest in our backgrounds, making the experience even more personal and special. The tour was packed with highlights – exploring the fish market, admiring stunning murals, and wandering through historic neighborhoods. We loved the variety of public transport we used, which gave us an authentic taste of the city. Cristian also went the extra mile, recommending fantastic places to eat and taking time to ensure we captured amazing photos. It was truly a perfect day, and we cannot recommend him highly enough!

  • 5Unforgettable Valparaiso

This was one of the best all day tours we have ever been on. Cristian, our guide met us at the cruise terminal after we disembarked from Viking Jupiter. Cristian who is the owner of PataTours spoke impeccable English. His knowledge of Valparaiso was excellent. At the start of the tour we went to the fish market and met local fishermen who had some great stories to tell. We then travelled on so many different modes of transport - train, bus and funicular’s. We explored the city and met a number of local artists. We had lunch at a beautiful seafood restaurant which overlooked the city. The food was absolutely delicious and so were the pisco sours! Cristian took us to the places of his childhood. We also got the opportunity to meet his lovely wife and son at his wife’s art studio, not to mention a visit to his office where he played some beautiful music to us on his guitar. If you are looking for a first-class, unforgettable journey through the picturesque city of Valparaiso, then Cristian is definitely the guide for you. He really loves what he does and it certainly shows. Many thanks Cristian for a day we will never forget.

  • 5More than 7 hours of an amazing tour of Valparaiso

It was a great experience. Catalina was an amazing, knowledgeable, and very kind tour guide. She sat with us for a few minutes and discussed with us our preferences for places to visit as well as telling us we would get there, that is, walking, elevators, trolleys, and buses. At end we got to see almost everything we wanted to see and she even took us to a store near our hotel to buy water. We had a very lovely long tour with her and great suggestions on what we could do on our the following day.

About Valparaíso

Valparaíso is Chile's Pacific port, a city of brightly painted houses and old funiculars climbing steep hills above a curved bay.

The historic quarter of Valparaíso, a World Heritage Site, is spread over dozens of hills that fall steeply to the sea. Houses in every colour cling to the slopes, walls are covered in murals, and old funiculars known as ascensores still carry passengers between the port and the hilltops. Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción are the best known of the hills, with cafés, galleries and lookouts over the bay.

Top-ranked sights in Valparaíso: Plaza Sotomayor, Cerro Concepcion, Ascensor El Peral.
