5Want a great, not the...
Want a great, not the normal tour? Pick this one. We had an awesome time making our way up the mountain to a delicious meal with all the extras. So fun.
5When travelling to Bar...
When travelling to Bar Montenegro do not miss the chance to experience the Rumija 4x4 Experience. Our driver Marco was excellent and provided a fun and informative ride up the mountain. We made numerous stops to see landmarks and incredible views. Then we arrived at our destination for lunch. Our host Drago provided such great Montenegran hospitality at his cottage and an absolutely delicious meal complete with tastings of wine, Grappa and pomegranate juice. Make sure to bring a bottle of olive oil home with you...its delicious. Thank you Drago, Marco and team for showing us a splendid day in your beautiful country. We will be back to see you again!
5Mountain day
Highly recommend! Milano and Drago were excellent Milanos wealth of knowledge for his country is so prevalent in the way he explains everything he is so proud to be from Montenegro We went to the old olive tree and did the traditional walk around the tree for health , happiness and love. The food that Drago prepared was absolutely wonderful! The meat ( veal shank) and potatoes and vegetables were so tender and delicious with some special spices added just delicious. We also got to experience, home made wines, their version of ( moonshine) pomegranate juice , Dragos special apple juice was delicious as well. The olive oil was great too. Great tour for cruisers we were on the Celebrity Constellation and had no problem getting back to the ship in plenty of time. Thank you for a great time and opening your home to us.
54x4 tour
Milan did a great job of of driving up through the mountains and explaining the history of bar along with interesting information and Drago did a great job preparing lunch for us which was delicious.
5Stunning day hosted by a fabulous team
Researched private trip for our visit to Bar and this excursion had the best reviews, I understand why. Excellent communication when booking, welcoming us, hosting and the entire experience 5 star !! We were returned on time as promised to board our ship. A wonderful experience we had with the team and our host; Drago's at his home high in the hills, delicious homemade slow cooked stew, potatoes and vegetables, unlimited servings of wine and drinks, laughter and conversations with the rest of the group. A stunning drive through the mountains, stopping at the oldest olive tree, viewpoints and visiting a natural water spring to fill our bottles.
55/5 Stars – Our 2nd Time Here and It Outdid the First!
We didn’t think anything could top our first tour here, but booking the private option proved us wrong in the best way possible! Our private guide, Milan, was exceptional. He made our group feel like instant family—warm, welcoming, and deeply knowledgeable as he guided us through Old Town Bar and the ancient olive tree. Traveling in a smaller, private group allowed us to visit breathtaking mountain viewpoints that the larger tour groups simply can't reach. A huge bonus was stopping by a friend’s local shop along the way to sample local drinks and products. They safely held onto our purchases all day so we didn't have to carry anything around, which made exploring completely hassle-free. The highlight of the day was lunch at Drago’s home. Having an intimate, private meal with just our group of three and Drago’s team was an incredible experience. Drago welcomed us into his home like family, serving a meal that was even more amazing than we remembered. Sitting down with them gave us such a genuine, personal connection to the country’s culture, history, and life. From the seamless port pickup to the final drop-off, this day was unreal. If our cruise ever brings us back here, we will 100% be booking a third time!

About Budva
Budva, on Montenegro's Adriatic coast, is a walled old town on a small peninsula, with a long run of beaches on either side.
Budva's old town sits on a rocky peninsula, enclosed by stone walls with a citadel on the seaward point. Narrow lanes lead between small churches and squares, and the settlement is more than 2,500 years old, with Venetian rulers shaping its present look from the fifteenth century. A 1979 earthquake damaged much of it, and it was carefully rebuilt. Beaches such as Mogren are reached by a path along the sea.
