  • 5a three-week journey across Sumatra

878 / 5 000 We chose a great guide for our three-week trip around Sumatra. We chose a great guide for our three-week trip around Sumatra. Pro náš třítýdenní výlet po Sumatře jsme si vybrali skvělého průvodce. We experienced incredible things, visited so many beautiful places that we would not have been able to get to on our own. Rezi was always willing, helpful and very friendly. He is easy to communicate with, speaks excellent English. If I had to choose the best experiences, it would definitely be Siberut Island and staying with the Mentawai tribe, Pacu Jawi, Bukittinggi, Minangabau dance, Harau Valley, Lake Toba, monkeys or vanilla farm. Rezi is a very funny companion, and he likes to talk about his culture, local people and will be happy to introduce you to the local cuisine. He can arrange anything, I especially thank him for visiting secret spots, beautiful views, walking through rice fields and visiting authentic villages. Thank you again for everything and I highly recommend him for his professionalism. I will remember this trip for a long time. :))

  • 5Unforgettable trip with Rezi

The best thing that could happen to us during our trip in West Sumatra was our guide Rezi. We spent with him almost three weeks and I cannot even write all of the things we had the chance to experience. Visiting Mentawai tribe in Siberut, jungle trekking, vanilla and dragon fruit farm, breathtaking waterfalls and volcanoes, pacu jawi event, beautiful mosques, markets, rice fields, hidden gems, city of Bukittinggi, Minangkabau plate dance and countless more experiences. The itinerary was intense and valuable. I think that's why I have more than two thousands of photos. Rezi speaks fluent English, so it's really easy to communicate, always willing to answer our questions and never got tired of us. He is also very professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about his culture and region. We always knew what was the plan of the day, what to expect, what to pack and I had always a partner to drink my sweet coffee with. We had this privilege to explore Sumatra more locally, to meet local people, enjoy Indonesian cuisine and visit places where we wouldn't get on our own. With Rezi, nothing was impossible, because he arranged and managed everything. What I value most were our conversations about traditions, life of local people, getting to know each other and our cultures and sharing the experiences. Rezi is a pure heart with beautiful soul and dreams. Only meeting him is making you a better person. Oh, and how much fun we had. When Rezi picked up us from the airport, he was a guide. But when we were leaving, I left a friend there. Rezi, I cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us. None of us will forget this trip. And after my arrival back to home and getting questions about my trip, the first thing I always say is "we had a perfect local guide". I would recommend you in a heartbeat. See you soon :)

  • 5Rezi, Yurian and Febri are the best !

I had an amazing 6-day trip around West Sumatra! I discussed everything with Rezi beforehand, and he was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and always quick to respond. Although he was already booked with another tour during my dates, he made a real effort to help and recommended the fantastic guide Yurian and Febri, the best driver! Febri drives confidently and dynamically, but always very safely. The itinerary was planned with Rezi but remained wonderfully flexible, which allowed us to experience with Yurian even more — including Pacu Jawi, seeing the incredible flowering giant Titan Arum in the jungle, Minangkabau culture , dances and workshops and exploring Harau Valley by tuk-tuk! One of the loveliest experiences was being invited by Yurian to his family home and to the little café he runs nearby. Besides great coffee, you can also try delicious and healthy drinks based on his own special recipes — a wonderful and very personal local experience! It was an intensive trip, but never exhausting — perfectly balanced, full of amazing experiences, and great fun. Highly recommended!

  • 5The best way to experience Sumatra

"Spending a few days with a guide will probably feel a bit awkward," we thought before our trip (my husband, our 13-year-old son and I). We couldn't have been more wrong. We have just said goodbye to Rezi and Febri, and all three of us feel a little sad. We're genuinely sorry that our trip is already over, and even more sorry that we won't be seeing these two wonderful men again. If you're looking for a guide in West Sumatra—or a trip through both West and North Sumatra—send Rezi a message. Communication with him is easy, his English is excellent, and if you like, he'll create a tailor-made itinerary just for you. Together with Febri, a fantastic driver (we never felt unsafe in the car for a single moment), he'll take you to places you would probably never discover on your own. Along the way, he shares a lot about the region, its culture and its people. If you have any special requests, just ask. We wanted to buy a Minangkabau flag as a gift for a friend. Rezi's father is a tailor, and he made one especially for us. I don't know if we'll ever return to Sumatra, but if we do, we'll definitely plan another adventure with Rezi.

  • 5West Sumatra one day private tour

We did a full day tour from Bukittinggi to Padang. We have visited silverwork art, vanilla farm, Pagaruyung palace and charming village Pariangan and nearby viewpoint of rice fields. Guide Rezi was very kind and nice. He explained us many interesting facts and stopped wherever we wanted. He also speaks very good English. If you are visiting West Sumatra, you won't regret it hiring him as a guide.

  • 5Five days ,endless Memories

🌿 5-Day Private Tour in West Sumatra — Padang, Indonesia As a couple, this trip was everything we hoped for and more. Each stop had its own charm: the traditional Minangkabau houses in Payakumbuh, the quiet village life around Muaro Sijunjung, the endless rice fields and mountain views in Solok, the coastal vibe of Pariaman, and the fresh sea breeze in Teluk. The itinerary felt perfectly balanced — a mix of culture, nature, and relaxation. Our guide made every place come alive with stories and local insights, while also giving us space to enjoy moments together. We loved how authentic the experience was: meeting locals, tasting fresh food, and watching sunsets that looked like paintings. It wasn’t just sightseeing — it was living Sumatra for five days. ⭐ Rating: Excellent! Highly recommended for couples who want to discover Sumatra in a genuine, stress-free way, with memories that will stay forever.

About Padang

Padang is the capital of West Sumatra, a coastal city on the Indian Ocean and the home of Minangkabau culture and of the spicy cooking called nasi Padang.

Padang sits on the west coast of Sumatra, between the Indian Ocean and the Barisan mountains that run along the island. It is the chief city of the Minangkabau people, who trace descent through the mother's line and build houses with long, upswept roofs shaped like buffalo horns. The old town, near the Batang Arau river, holds colonial warehouses from the Dutch era, a Chinese quarter and the Siti Nurbaya bridge.
