Experience the best of Punta Cana
Punta Cana, on the Dominican Republic's eastern tip, is a coast of palm-lined white beaches, calm reef-protected water and easygoing island days.

The area stretches along a long sweep of coastline, from Bávaro Beach and Cabeza de Toro to Macao and Uvero Alto, where coconut palms lean over soft white sand. Coral reefs offshore keep the water calm and clear in many spots, ideal for swimming, snorkelling and catamaran outings along the shore.
Day trips lead to Saona Island, a protected island of postcard beaches and shallow natural pools dotted with starfish, and to Catalina Island for diving and snorkelling. Buggies bounce along country tracks to cacao and coffee farms and swimming holes, and the clifftop village of Altos de Chavón looks over a river gorge near La Romana. Santo Domingo, the oldest European city in the Americas, is within reach for its colonial quarter and cathedral.
La bandera of rice, beans and stewed meat and mangú of mashed plantain are Dominican comfort food, served with fresh fish and tropical fruit, while merengue and bachata are never far away. The climate is warm all year; the dry season from December to April is the most popular, while late summer and autumn are hotter and fall within the hurricane season.
